PARADISEPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Excellent! Love the fact that we could utilize both resorts.
Cons: Buffet menu could be improved. A little too much repetition.
Location: Did some sovinor shopping at the nearest downtown. Location is clean and safe. Only thing is most stores close by 5pm.
This was our first ever Caribbean Island trip and a memorable experience. The stayed there for 5 nights and we went in middle of August. Everything from Start to Finish was smooth and relaxing. The temperature was about 90-95 degree F. Water was warm and exquisitely clean. The Hotel staff was very pleasant and informative at all times. The Bar staff and service was awesome. The buffet staff was very courteous and attentive to all our concerns and questions. The buffet menus were quite good, you might see some repetition from time to time but nothing serious. The restaurants were quite good as well, only inconvenience was the availability to get reservations. The beach supplies were sufficient and almost all the time the cabanas in the beach and in the resort we open. The setting, atmosphere, nature, people, sand, beach, water, food, drinks, and the calm breezes are definitely a stress reliever. We highly recommend this place for 1st or 2nd or 100th honeymooners. This spot is a true paradise and our 1st genuine vacation. We can't wait to go back! I LOVE ARUBA!

Close to the beach, but.....Posted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: View, location.
Cons: Everything else.
Location: Not much, but almost every activity on Aruba offers rides from and to.
The location couldn't be better. My room was right on the beach. However, that was the only good thing about the experience at Divi. The bathroom was old and needed major renovation. Also smelled of sewage. The closets still smelled like paint. The sheets had stains, holes, hair and sand. Sand I can understand, because it's right on the beach. But the stains, holes and hair? REALLY? The staff, some were nice, some weren't. I don't know if it's a language thing or not, but some of the staff sounded constantly sarcastic. And one thing about the towels. Admittedly, we do use a lot of towels. I just don't like reusing wet sandy towels. At around 9pm, we asked if we could have some more towels, and they said housekeeping was closed and they don't have anymore clean towels. Ok, I can understand that. Then they started questioning me like a criminal asking, don't you already have 7-8 towels already? I answered, no, but even if I did, is that really a big deal? Her answer, 'Basically, yes.' At that point I lost my temper, which never happens. The food, was not good. Looks ok, but always tasted too salty. Drinks are ok. Cups are always dirty. Overall, I did enjoy being right on the beach and being able to just sit there all day until night. But there are many more hotels on the strip. I would recommend going to a not all-inclusive one, because the food was just so bad. Well, live and learn.

Hotel right on the beachPosted Aug 12, 2013
The beach is absolutely gorgeous. We usually go to the high rises but decided to try the low rise this time. Can't wait to go back! I love just walking out on the beach, no elevators. The staff is friendly and food was good. Nothing fancy but quiet, relaxing and less crowded then the high rises.

Glad we chose the Divi!Posted Aug 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Don't let the name fool you as everything was not inclusive, such as the in-room safes ($2/day) and wi-fi ($15/day) which I felt should have been included for the amount paid. Almost reserved at their sister property, the Tamarijn (Tam) and my whole family was glad I didn't as it was a lower scaled property, and rowdier as it was filled with many more children. It was nice to be able to dine at the a la carte restaurants between the two hotels, but to us the best one (Red Parrot) was at the Divi. We also thought the Palm Grill at the Tam was fun. The biggest downside, which could also be seen as a positive as the Divi had less foot traffic, is that primarily all of the amenities, such as the watersport hut/rentals, gym, rock climbing wall, and bike rentals were located at the Tam. Getting back and forth was made easy with their complimentary golf cart shuttle, and walking only took approximately 7 minutes. The beach was nice and calm, never went hungry as good quality food was always available. . Reservations at the a la carte restaurants at good times (6-6:30pm) were easily obtained if booked 2 days in advanced. Hotel was in a good location, but we rented a car to come and go as we pleased. Rooms in the Vista section were recently renovated, but the fan in the bathroom was extremely loud and annoying and could not be avoided as it turned on when the light switch was flipped. All in all a good stay.

Everything at your fingertips!Posted Aug 1, 2013
Pros: It was a clean hotel, mostly friendly staff and there was always something going on for both children and adults.
Cons: People at the restaurants that required reservations, were a bit snippy when guests inquired about reservations. Otherwise, nothing.
Location: Located on a beautiful beach and had an excursion station right within the hotel which made it easy to book any activities. Check out the Natural Pool
Overall, was truly a fantastic vacation. Everything needed was right at the resort. Spa (great massages), good food, nice nightly entertainment and readily available bars!

Most relaxing vacation ever!!!Posted Aug 1, 2013
Cons: Rooms needs a little work mostly bathrooms, little more night life at the resort
Location: Everything seemed near by
Expedia said they booked us two queen beds but when we got there we had just a king. The resort manager Fred was beyond amazing! Said he'd get us the correct room either in resort or the sister resorts. Not even two hours later and we were in a bigger room with two queen bed but closer to the ocean. The staff is so happy, helpful and outgoing. The were all restaurants are all very delicious, even the Buffet food was good! My friend and I live on opposite coast so when we have a girls trip it an be stressful meeting up with flights. All we wanted was a super relaxing vacation and we most Definitely got what we wanted. We both have never wanted to return to a vacation spot once we've experienced it we always want to try the next new place. Not this time! We weren't even there two days and were talking about coming back to Aruba and staying at the Divi Divi!
