Recreation

The resort's rock-garden recreation complex features a 183-m (600-ft) freeform pool with sloped entry and swim-up bar. The complex also includes a children's pool, a sand-volleyball court, a pool table, and a Ping-Pong table. Use of two lighted tennis courts is complimentary.

The resort faces Palm Beach along the Caribbean Sea. A water-sports center provides a wide array of rental equipment, including snorkeling gear, small sailboats, and kayaks. The center also arranges scuba instruction, snorkeling and scuba excursions, fishing trips, sunset cruises, dinner cruises, wakeboarding, water skiing, tubing, parasailing, and glass-bottom-boat rides. A windsurfing center farther up the beach offers rentals and lessons.

“One Happy Island”

Marriott's Surf Club was wonderful! We fell in love with the Lazy River and having cocktails served on the beach :-) If I had to find one flaw, it would be that we were in the building closest to the beach :-) but farthest from the lobby & parking lot so lots of walking, but a fantastic restful vacation. They aimed to please to their guests.

“Just wanted to relax on the BEACH!”

We have been to Aruba six times. Three of our stays have been at the Marriott. Once at the Ocean Club, twice at the Surf Club. Would probably stay at the Ocean Club again on the fence about the Surf. It seems to be increasingly difficult to obtain a beach umbrella. You either have to get up at 6am or wait in line for over an hour just to reserve a spot on the beach or get at chair at the pool. This dose not make for a very relaxing vacation. Perhaps this new adult pool at the Surf will help that problem a bit but they really need to address the beach issue. Many of their beach umbrella have been broken and not replaced. Seems like and east fix to me.

“time share hotel with nice lazy river”

The time share falls short of a regular hotel--no nice lobby, only shampoo provided with no conditioner, and no room service. It is worth staying for the lazy river which is awesome.
