“Everything you want in a vacation!”

We came here on our honeymoon, and we loved just about everything about the Occidental Grand Aruba. The quality of our room, and that of our housekeeping services was exceptional. The pool area with swim-up bar was top notch. The resort's restaurants offer excellent meals. The beach area is safe and peaceful, with convenient access to the bar and towel hut. We are definitely going back next year! Only potential negative is that the resort club (Sound Lounge) was pretty much dead every night we were there, and it's the only place to get a drink after midnight.

“Amazing vacation spot.”

The Occidental Grand Aruba is a great vacation spot. My boyfriend and I went away for relaxation and the hotel's pool and beach were PERFECT for that. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. We've been to all inclusive resorts before and the food here was definitely the best we've seen. The special restaurants (especially the Japanese and Italian) were awesome! We are already trying to plan our next trip to the Occidental Grand.

“WON'T WANT TO LEAVE”

I read the reviews before I booked and thought for the most part this was going to be a nice vacation but was a little worried about the food. WELL, this was a great vacation and the food was great! I did not want to leave and gained 10 pounds. The only thing that could have been better was a late night buffet or anything to eat after 1:00 am. The Casino was a lot of fun and people were doing well at the slots and tables. The people were very nice and speak English. A few of the reviews said the drinks are watered down, well they are a little SO ORDER MORE and have fun longer.There was only one restraunt that was not very good "Desire" but the rest of them were out of this world. I do recommend booking all the restraunts you can when you arrive. And also eating at the main buffet for lunch not Desire. The rooms have wonderful beds and big down comforters which you will need because the room is very cold "feels great after a long hot day." The weather is great! Very hot but has a great breeze. The other guest were a lot of fun and we made some good friends that will be meeting us at this same Hotel next year....CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!

“Aruba !!! We will return”

We realy enjoyed our stay at the Occidental Grand Aruba, We liked it so much we bought into the vacation club there. I had never been to an all inclusive vacation before. We pretty much stayed at the Hotel. We never felt like we were trapped there . We enjoyed the different restaurants available to us. The pool with hot tubs & beach was beautiful.Also, the drinks never stopped. We were never hungry. There was always some place that was serving food. Well all I can say we totally loved it. We will definately return.

“great experience”

Stay was in early november '08. We upgraded to the Royal club, which was worth the extra cost. If you use it, be sure to mention it to the bellboys as soon as you arrive to avoid waits at check in. Royal club Concierge service was great, food was terrific, service top notch. There was enough variety at the restaurants in this hotel to eat every meal there (1 week) and still feel like we were getting a unique experience every time. Beautiful climate. Nice pool.

“Lived up to expecatations”

Grounds and Beach areas were well maintained. Staff was very pleasant and responsive to needs. Food was better than we expected.

“Awesome hotel”

The hotel was great. I would definitely recommend the upgrade to Royal Club, especially if you are a food snob. The private restaurant was extremely good and much much better than the other restaurants. Also having the availability to drink premium liquors and beers was very nice.

“Pleasantly Surprised, Exceeded Expectations”

After reading several reviews of the Occidental, we were worried about being able to book dinner reservations and about the level of service at the hotel in general. Luckily, everything at the Occidental completely exceeded our expectations. If you book dinner reservations on the first day you arrive, you will have no problem. Guest services managed to squeeze us in for an 8 PM reservation every night so we could watch the sunset beforehand. Zen is absolutely the best- the sushi is fantastic. Also, ask to experience the hibatchi grill at Zen on your first night, it was fun and delicious! Desire also had great appetizers and the coconut shrimp entree was awesome. We were not as impressed with L'Olio (Italian) as we thought we would be based on other reviews. At night, the lounge above Desire is beautiful to have a drink at- outside beds overlook the beach. The pool and beach were by far the best on all of Palm Beach.

“Would go back in a minute”

Great place - had no trouble checking in or making reservations at theme restaurants. Food was fantastic. Only minor problems were finding chairs at the pool and view of dumpster from our balcony (not on hotel property). Definitely would recommend to friends.

“Great Hotel - Clean & Updated Rooms - Great Service!”

My fiancee and I spent weeks trying to find a nice, safe, and clean place to go to for vacation. After reading reviews and seeing pictures of this hotel, it seemed like a great deal! And it really was! Rooms are clean and very updated. Tons of stuff to do during the day. We stayed in the resort for all of our meals since we got the all-inclusive package - and the food was great! The fancier restaurants are great if you're looking to try some new food. Otherwise, the buffet has a huge variety of food, and has a different theme of food every night...so you'll probably never eat the same thing. Very relaxing vacation - Just what we were looking for. Friendly service and friendly people. Definitely recommend renting your own jeep (a little expensive - but you can tour the whole island and go wherever you'd like!) Definitely would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a RELAXING vacation...without all the city buzz.
