Quality of food

Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: Spa room
Cons: Restaurant
Food in restaurant very disappointing Pate in edible like cheap spam but at a premium price . Wrong main course cold vegetables . Waitress very pleasant but couldn't fix . Breakfast We would have preferred less but better quality . Room service was very good and the club sandwich was perfect We were very sorry that we didn't have this for dinner instead of €100 I spent in restaurant . If we return to hotel it will be to use the spa . This was excellent and great value .

Ridiculous Check-in Policy

Posted Aug 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall the hotel was okay. However, when we arrived at 2pm to change before attending a 3pm wedding locally (not in this hotel), we were told that check-in was not possible until 4pm. We were offered the option (which we declined) of changing in the hotel leisure centre and leaving our bags at the hotel reception. Eventually we were offered either a smoking room (no way for us) or a wheelchair-accessible room. We chose the latter and so used up an accessible room even though we are both able-bodied - hopefully we didn't deprive anyone who needed it more than us. The receptionist didn't check with the people preparing rooms as to whether non-smoking room might become available in the next few minutes at that stage, which seemed likely to be the case. A check-in this late is inconvenient and, in my experience, unnecessary. The hotel itself seemed 'tired', with little things wrong (the toilet cistern in our en suite dripped all night). The breakfast buffet was good and family-friendly.
