Excellent hotel, close to the NC Zoo

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: We were very pleased with the appearance of the room. Comfortable and clean
Cons: The pool was closed. It was an outdoor pool and the kids wanted to take a dip in the pool.
Location: NC Zoo, shopping, eating places
The staff was very friendly and helpful upon our arrival to the hotel. We received coupons for the zoo, info about the area and other helpful information.

Nice hotel for Asheboro zoo visit

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: The location was great and the staff was very helpful.
Cons: the cigarette smell was pretty overwhelming in the entrance to the parking lot.
Location: located six miles from the zoo and right off the interstate. Next door was a very good Chinese rest. Close to a grocery store and breakfast places.
We stayed two nights and couldn't have been happier for the price. The breakfast buffet was great, although very popular and hard to find seating both mornings. The room furnishings were nice and the beds very comfortable. The showers were great too- hot water and nice pressure massaging heads.

Do not stay at this motel!!!!!

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: location, centrally located
Our room was not very clean. Bathroom had paint peeling off walls. Air condition was not cooling like it should have been. Had to wait 30 minutes next morning to check out and turn in room keys. Clerk was not in place. Clerk did not apologize for making us wait. No elevator.

Would stay there again...

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Me and my family stayed here overnight to go to the zoo the next day. It was a good location. We were pleased with the staff, everybody was very nice and helpful. The only problem I had was the room was supposed to have 2 queen beds and it actually had 2 doubles, so that was my issue. For what I paid, it should've been 2 queens for sure. The breakfast is good and have a lot to choose from. We would definitely stay there again the next time we go to the zoo.

Easy access to Seagrove

Posted Jun 22, 2014
We just stayed one night and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel was old but clean. Decent fitness room for a Comfort Inn. Breakfast was ok, but other guests would sit at the tables long after they were finished eating while watching other guests standing to eat. There must be a problem with thievery, as there was a diplomatic message in the room the price of each item. Access to both I-73/74 and Rt. 220 alternate (Pottery Hwy.) is convenient.

Close to the zoo

The front desk person who checked us in was rude. Despite booking a pet friendly hotel, she harped on the need to call the hotel directly if you are bringing your pet to stay. Stating that it is clearly posted on the website. Perhaps not readily available information when viewing their website on a mobile device. As I went back onto the website and checked from my room. Regardless, having worked in the hotel industry previously that is not acceptable treatment of a guest to be scolded upon arrival. Quite the first impression! Further the beds are like sleeping on a slab of concrete. If you want to be close to the zoo, are only planning to stay for a single night, and don't care how the front desk staff treat you, this is the hotel for you.
