oler hotel being updated, hard to find in the city

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: shower had plenty of water flow
Cons: doors,
Location: went to Biltmore House, walked downtown which was really nice.
the bed was comfortable, room faced the back yard area, (much better than facing the driveway!) however, there was a huge amount of light showing around the door, needed some weather stripping or a better fitting door. When light comes in so does sound. the water tasted funny and the standard beds were smaller than I remembered. hubby and I each slept in our own bed! The breakfast was extremely high fat, if you liked eggs you could get eggs made to order. If all you wanted was a simple cereal, milk, coffee and juice you needed to eat elsewhere , it was pricey. I would stay in a newer facility next time I visit Ashville.

Heavy renovations, but nice

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: Nothing, really.
Location: We drove to the Arts district by the river, and we took their shuttle downtown both nights.
They are doing a lot of renovations, but it was a nice stay. Everyone was very friendly; the room was nice; the room was clean; the bed was comfortable; the breakfast was good. They have a nice shuttle to downtown, and we found it to be a very nice moderately priced hotel.

Managing Expectations

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: It is in a great location for being able to really enjoy Asheville.
I wish we had known ahead of time that the hotel was under a fair amount of reconstruction, restoration and upgrading.

Pros: Clean, staff reasonably friendly & helpful. The price was also reasonable as well.
Cons: The remodel will update things.
Breakfast was decent--ordinary--with variety. Not top tier, but sufficient. Coffee--so, so.

Big Renovation

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: The rooms are spacious and there is a mini-fridge.
I have stayed in the Crowne Plaza before and found it to be a comfortable hotel and close to downtown. This time there was a major renovation going on and the main lobby and lounge areas were closed. I asked for a room away from the noise and it was fine. The rooms could be soundproofed better - a lot of noise from neighboring rooms.

Didn't love the room

Posted Feb 12, 2015
Pros: staff
Cons: more insulation in the room/doors. Could hear everything, outside the room, and from the room downstairs or next door.
Location: Downtown is real close.
My husband and I stayed in this same hotel a couple times while in Asheville and loved it, this time, not so much. The room was located right next to a door and was very loud. You could hear people talking all night outside the room and it appeared the noise was also coming from the room next door or downstairs. Light was shining through the door the entire night. The shower water was luke warm and not very hot in the morning. The hotel staff was very nice during check in.

Nice relaxing getaway......

Posted Feb 9, 2015
Pros: Room service was great. Food was excellent. They also had a shuttle to take you downtown for only 5$ round trip.
Location: It's close to downtown. Turn left when leaving the resort for good food downtown. Turning right only takes you to the run of the mill restaurants.
I enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean. The bed linens were of good quality and the furnishings were nice. The few staff members I encountered were polite and helpful. I purchased one of the spa packages consisting of a mini facial, manicure and 60 minute massage at the Adelaide spa. I had excellent service. The front entrance is being remodeled which is unsightly but it looks like it's near completion. The onsite restaurant is hard to find. Matter of fact I never found it. Also, don't take your luggage out of the car until you find out where your room is.
