Beautiful Getaway

Posted Aug 1, 2015
This hotel had a perfect location that was close enough but still had a beautiful view of the mountains. Perfect place to stay for a quick getaway or extended stay.

Ok hotel

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Cons -We checked in and the room wasn't ready- bed was unmade. We had to return to front desk and they gave us another room. -My wife and I were getting ready to go out for dinner and we decided to have a drink in the room before, so I went to the bar to get us 2 cocktails as my wife was getting ready. I was told that I could only get one. BUT I was able to take that to the room and come back for mine. I understand that they are trying to control underage drinking and what have you, but I can't buy 2 drinks?? Ridiculous...then the fact that I could just come back and keep getting them one at a time. So whats the difference other than making it really inconvenient for us? - Loud noisy water running early in the AM - No microwave in the room - Food at restaurant for breakfast was marginal at best. I will say the bacon was good- that was about it. Pros -Comfy bed -pleasant staff (even the bartender was- even though the drink thing) -Very nice pool and grounds

You think a place like this would have edible food

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: the rooms
Cons: spend millions to build a resort make sure it has good food
Location: location was great, on and off the highway, short drive to downtown Asheville
Everything looks pretty nice pulling in, the room is nice and comfy then you decide to try some food in the "Overlook Restaurant", this is a huge mistake. We should have driven into Asheville and had some of the bountiful good food available but were too tired from 11 hours on the road. There were only a handful of people seated, we waited about 7 minutes for someone to appear and seat us. Long story short I would have rather forced a TV Dinner down than eat the "Meatloaf" that has literally been warmed up in a dry pan and was the consistency of Pâté, appeared to be left overs from the night before, maybe older. I think the cook here hates his job, because this should have never left the kitchen. The tenderloin was no better, I was told they had "run out" of carmelized onions, it was cooked great but ruined with the thickest layer of blue cheese spread I have ever seen and it made it so bad I had 3 bites and couldnt do it anymore. The sides were nothing to speak of and the cheese plate was not good either, the server said she didnt she didnt know, We said everything was fine when because the last thing I wanted was any discussion as I was too tired from being on the road, our server told us she never works dinner, probably just the poorly catered breakfast for some reason we thought might be better, we were wrong, cold french toast "sticks" and pretty bad everything else...... I Dont like to complain but I hope anyone staying here avoids the "restaurant" portion

Nice hotel in a good location

Posted Jul 27, 2015
The hotel has been renovated in areas and my husband and I were impressed with the lobby area and bar. When we arrived in our room we laughed at how small the bed was. It was a full size bed with no headboard or anything and was a little uncomfortable to sleep in. We wanted to relax and watch tv, which was impossible because the tv kept going in and out until we finally turned it off. Most hotels were booked in the area that night or we would have chose somewhere else for the price. The most positive thing about our stay was the cleanliness. It was a very clean room.

Facility is not great, Staff is not friendly

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Please change your staff.
Location: Close to downtown
We booked hotel looking at the Pictures but hotel smells of smoke and no elevators for 3 floors hotel. Receiving Staff is not friendly and was trying to give us room with inside view. I had to push it to give outside view though staff was saying that all rooms are booked. Blatant lie. I did not see whole lot of people in the hotel and it was weekday. I do not recommend this hotel to stay, if you have a family. You have to pay for zip line, Golf and any thing that is mentioned at their website.

Lots of activities onsite

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Location and activities were great!
Cons: Customer service and the restaurant really need to be improved. Restaurant was pretty horrible.
Location: So much to do onsite including zipline tours, kids zipline activities, ropes course (for both kids and adults), mountain biking, spa
The hotel facilities are obviously being redone and they look like they'll be really nice when complee. The rooms are good and clean, comfortable with nice views. It's convenient to lots of outdoor activities including the spa and sports club, zipline tours, mountain biking, etc. The outside pool by the hotel was just ok. The staff were somewhat uneducated on the area and had trouble recommending places to eat, etc. I would NOT eat in the hotel's restaurant as it was horrible as far as hotel food goes, plus it was very expensive. It was good to have roundtrip shuttle service available for a low cost.

Great hotel that was pet-friendly, close to the freeway, and an easy drive to downtown. Room service was very good - good food, fair price, and quick.

Very disappointed

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: The food at breakfast was tasty.
Cons: All bathroom facilities need to be improved and supposedly are being redone this fall. However, I personally do not want to risk staying at this hotel
Location: There seems to be a golf course on site but we did not use the facilities.
I had high expectations for this hotel based on the pictures but was very disappointed. To being with the hotel is accessed either from an interstate access road or by taking a drive to a large retailer. The air conditioner in the room left the room feeling almost a humid as the July weather and the bathroom had no exhaust fan. Even our unworn clothes needed to be washed upon returning home. The cleaning staff never left enough towels for the four of us in our room and once when I requested towels I was given a stack of washcloths and floor mats from the front desk. The food at breakfast was good but again, the staff disappointed me when they tried to charge both of my children for an adult buffet.

close to downtown

Pros: size of room and good room service
Cons: shuttle service
Location: We were very disappointed with the city of Ashville. Shopping is limited and good restaurants lacking.
Pleasant stay in a nice large room with good room service.
