No fancy frills, but clean and comfortable.

While the hotel is a bit outdated, it's also comfortable and just fine. We have kids and always make sure everyone feels comfortable.

Nice hotel but exspensive breakfast

Nice clean room, hospitable staff,& nice location off of main road. I thought breakfast was alittle exspensive when most hotels I use have a complimentary breakfast that's free with a lot of the same items on breakfast bar.

Pros: The beds, there are 3 pools, tennis courts, golf, ziplining and a spa. It was close to downtown Asheville and was really relaxing.
Location: There is so much to do at the resort you don't even have to leave! The Biltmore is within 5 miles as is downtown Asheville.
This was a great place to stay. The staff was super helpful in finding places in town and housekeeping was on top of things! We ordered room service for breakfast during our stay and the food was great! The beds and pillows were very comfortable and made sleeping in a bed other than your own very nice. I would definitely go back and next time I want to try the spa services!

I think the outdoor tennis courts and pools are the main attraction. The hotel rooms are nice, with small balconies. Clean, comfortable, but not luxurious.

How to waste one hr at the reception desk

We arrived at the hotel checking hour to disvover that the room wasn't ready. It was a matter of 10/15 minutes. Back to the reception desk 20 minutes later, still the same message.... And again again .. The receptionist were checking when we were askin for an update, requesting basicaly every our name to check the room number and availibility. After on hour, when i asked o see the manager, he came out of his office only when I insisted. He even fid bother to say hello, but instead started to explain that it was a difficult weekend and the sich delays were expected and understadable.. After reminiding him, that the first thing to do it is to say hello and to welcome his customer, he moved to a mor coopertive mind set and requet the house keeping team to do our room in priority. Finally 10 min later th room was available..

Overall, fine for driving through Asheville for a night and for the price. Just would not want to stay there for multiple nights, it's clean, somewhat dated, staff was courteous.

Don't consider this a "downtown" location

Pros: Not much.
Cons: The facilities needed improving. The handicap door to the parking lot took way too long to shut after one passed through, leaving one vulnerable.
Location: Aside from the activities at the "resort" it was not very close to anything. They had a bus to take one downtown every 30 min. but it cost $5.
I was very disappointed in this hotel/resort. I'd hesitate to call it a resort. It is surrounded by tennis courts (from which you can see the dumpsters) and a golf course. Since I don't play golf, I can't comment on the golf course, but it did not look very lush. From the parking lot one could look down across the golf course and see the railroad tracks. They touted the zip line but it did not go through any trees as far as I could tell.....just "zipped" one across an open field. I only saw one outside pool and it was very small. The room itself could have been in a 2.5 star hotel for all it had to offer. I wanted to leave the moment I got there. Check in took longer than it should and even though we checked in after 5 the room was still being cleaned. When I booked the room, it was supposed to be downtown but there was no way one could walk from this hotel into downtown Asheville without crossing over a river. I'm not sure how one could walk across the interstate to get to the side that would lead you across the river and into the lively downtown area.

Not what I thought it would be

Pros: The room was clean
Compared to other hotels that charge the same rates it did not compare. The TV did not even work in the room and they had booked a private party at the pool therefore the paying guests could not utilize the area. I would not suggest the hotel to friends. We only had two towels in the room for 4 guests, it was not what I thought it would be.
