Decent hotel near downtown

Posted Dec 29, 2013
We were hoping for a little more than a 2-star experience, but you get what you pay for. Overall, the experience was fine, the hotel staff were nice and the rooms were clean, but very basic. The free breakfast was a joke also. On the other hand, the location was great and parking was very convenient.

Hotel in downtown Asheville

Posted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: The location.
Location: Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, great restaurants.
We chose this hotel because it had fairly positive reviews on Trip Advisor. While it was inexpensive and conveniently located it is badly in need of updating which they are currently doing. We know this because they were drilling and hammering in the evening! The hotel manager did tell us the second night that they would only work until 9:00 and if it bothered us we could call the desk and they would stop working. The staff were friendly and accommodating. If you do choose this hotel ask for a room in the back of the building away from the street noise.

Hipster hotel

The staff was great. The checkin clerk told were to go for Thia and it was very good. the hotel is dated from the 70's and needs a little TLC. you can walk to downtown also.

Perfect for spending time downtown.

This is a great place to stay if you want to enjoy downtown Asheville. The hotel is very dated but the staff is friendly and helpful. Perfect if you want to invest money on activities instead of lodging.

Great location!

Pros: Location and price were great!
Taking into account location and price, this hotel is very good bargain. Most downtown Asheville restaurants and breweries were within short walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Close to Downtown

Great Location, Great Location!! The hotel is okay but it was clean. Didn't really care for the entry to the room being outside......But, again the location far outweighs anything negative about the hotel. Parking is fee and was very convenient.

Great Location

Economical hotel in a great location. Two blocks from downtown Asheville arts district and restaurants. Staff was friendly. Building is old but adequate, breakfast is inadequate but no big deal. Never felt unsafe walking to or from. Will most likely stay here again.

Cheap and cheerful

Posted Oct 12, 2013
Pros: The breakfast buffet selection was outstanding, we've paid more for much less in the past.
Cons: It could definitely use a facelift, there's still a very 80s vibe to the decor.
Location: It's only a very short walk away from the Grove Arcade selection of shops and restaurants. Wall Street and Pritchard Park also have great food!
From the price, you know it's not going to be The Ritz, but for what it is, it's a great stay. It's got big comfy beds and a decent sized room. The staff will really go out of their way to accomodate any requests, and the complementary breakfast buffet selection is really big. There's still a very retro vibe to the decor and the pool didn't look particularly inviting, but that's how they keep the costs down I guess. It's very much a budget hotel, but for what it is, it does it well.

Downtown Inn Asheville

Great place to stay. Really helpful staff on arrival and then the next morning. Good location for downtown and a couple of great bars across the road.
