Comfortable and attractive but room not clean

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: D├ęcor, friendliness of staff.
Cons: The lack of proper housekeeping was very evident. I'm not picky and I don't go looking for dust or dirtiness. I'm not a "white glove" kind of gal.
Location: Downtown Asheville was about 5 miles away. Black mountain 15 miles. Good location.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The common rooms, hallways and pool/fitness area were attractive and clean. Our room, however, was lacking in the housekeeping department. Upon arrival I found hair in the shower and toenail clippings on the floor. I moved the coffee pot off the counter to make room and the cord and pot itself were quite dusty. The second day (of 3), I found a bobby pin on the floor and the toenail remained. The third day the toenail was still hanging around. I also saw lots of dust on the bench in our room. Each day the beds were poorly made, part of the bedspread was tucked and other parts were hanging. We were given fresh towels each day. The room did not have an odor, as many hotel rooms do. The beds were comfortable. Lighting was good. It was nice that breakfast was included, standard fare of cheese omelettes and cereal but there was also hot oatmeal, a waffle maker and fresh fruit.

The right price

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: I like a place with interior halls. I like the indoor pool and hot tub-much more comfortable for swimming with my kids. Towels were provided poolside.
Cons: The parking lot was a bit tight from the portico to the parking spaces.
Location: Close to Farmer's Market, I-40 and I-26, Blue Ridge Parkway with Folk Art Center and Craggy Gardens, easy to get downtown and to Biltmore Estate.
I visit Asheville, NC at least once a year and need affordable accommodations. This time I had 2 kids with me. Normally I stay at a place near the Hampton Inn but their price was way too high. I got lucky with the Hampton as it seems recently remodeled--they are still working on the patio outside the enclosed pool. Check-in took about one minute. The person maintaining the breakfast buffet offered to help my children get their juice while I finished the waffles. The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of room for the guests. The room was quite clean with no leftover black stuff in the bathtub. Silly me didn't find the thermostat until I was ready to leave but the room temperature was mostly comfortable. Decor was neutral and I didn't notice that it was overly hotel-ish. Hotel staff went out of their way to be friendly, even in passing.

Very clean rooms

Posted Jul 29, 2014
The room was very clean the house keeper Mary was very nice. The front desk staff was less than friendly. Professional but very stuffy personality's. My experience is they are unhappy in the job and usually because of management. If it were only one person no be deal but three front desk staff someone might want to take a look at management. They can make work enjoyable or miserable.

Easy on off to I -26. Room was great. Only stayed one night but would consider staying here again. No problems.

Biltmore trip

Posted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Facilities were great. We had a 2-night stay and our first night was miserable. There must have been an infant in the room next to ours, and the baby screamed throughout the night from about 11:30 pm to 5:30 am. We were not able to sleep at all. When my husband went to the desk to let them know we were quite disappointed, they did not offer to reimburse us for the night. The second night was much better, but we felt the staff could have been much more helpful.

Our stay in this hotel was wonderful , I would definitely recommend it to friends and if we're in Asheville again this would be our place to stay.
