Beautiful relaxing ambience

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: The history of the hotel is fascinating!
Location: Asheville is an eclectic town with plenty of shopping, eating, outdoor activity, and natural beauty!
The Grove Park Inn is an exceptional experience! The grounds are beautiful, the hotel is amazing, and the staff are well trained. The view of the NC mountains is overwhelmingly breathtaking. The food at the restaurants is delectable and the shops are above average gift shops. The spa helps to set a relaxing atmosphere over the entire property. This hotel is worth the price!

More Than Expected

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: The grandeur. The mountain views. The history. The attentive staff. Excellent food and beverages. The landscaping.
Cons: Our room toilet ran intermittently during the entire stay.
Location: Surrounded by mountains, 10 minutes from downtown, an artsy area with shops and an abundance of good restaurants. We like Tupelo Honey.
This was our first stay at GPI. I think I was expecting something fairly nice and about 1/4 the size. From the moment we arrived at the gate we knew it would be special, The knicker clad gatekeeper approached our vehicle and offered us directions and procedural instructions. The bellman guided us into a spot, helped with our bags, then delivered our bags to our room, which was upgraded to a king, further from the doors and elevator. The view at dinner was exquisite, as was the dinner itself....mountain trout and roasted chicken. Veggies were perfect. We tried, unsuccessfully, to share and finish the largest piece of chocolate cake/cheesecake that we'd ever seen. Patrons nearby were commenting on the enormity of it. That evening and the next, after roaming the enormous buildings and grounds, and taking in the picturesque mountain views, we settled into the lounge and listened to The B's,,,,Byron, Bill, and Bruce who entertained us with perfect versions of soft rock classics and ballads, interspersed with some very cool jazz. Our stay will always be a special memory for us. We're already planning our next visit!

Excellent hotel

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: The history and the beautiful stone work. The two fireplaces in the lobby are amazing!
Cons: The parking rates could lower.
Location: The location of the hotel is about 10 minutes by car to downtown Asheville, where there are so many places to shop, visit and eat.
We stayed at the Omni Grove Park Inn for three nights. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff was friendly and very helpful. We did not eat there or go to spa. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
