“Hosts were great..neighbors were NOT!!!!!!”
The hosts of the house were a wonderful English couple. And the house and grounds are lovely(they are located on 4 acres). However the neighbors(that live on the other side of the wall at the edge of the property) are people that live in a trailerpark and they like to stay up till 3am drinking/talking/yelling. So unless you turn on the A/C unit in the room they will keep you up at night!!!! Other than not getting much rest everything else was fine. The food was wonderful and very customized to suit your particular taste(ie very compliant with food allergies/likes/dislikes etc). We were very "impressed" with the fact that the door to the stairway that lead up to our room had a "secret" entrance(a panel on the wall would open the wall up to reveal the doorway)....So all in all we would recomend this to any of our friends and may go back again someday....
“Can't wait stay there again!”
Totally surprised by the wonderful secluded spot in the midst of the city! June and Alvan make you feel right at home! Very helpful and knowledgeable about the activities in the area. Even sat down with us and helped us find a new restaurant she felt we would enjoy and then called the restaurant to confirm directions. The room with canopy bed and fireplace was very romantic and comfortable. We can't say enough about the gourmet breakfast! Be sure you try some of Alvan's honey from his own hives!
“Our hideaway in the woods.”
My wife and I had a very wonderfull stay. The couple that runs the inn were just great.
“Fabulous Bed and Breakfast!”
As anyone who has stayed at bed and breakfast's knows, they can be a hit or miss experience. Fortunately, the Tudor House was an absolute hit! As previous reviewers said, the entrance is tucked inside what appears to be a subdivision, but as you drive down the narrow pebbled lane it feels like you are miles away from civilization. The house itself is lovely, with several antiques and a flawlessly manicured lawn and gardens. Our room (the Garden Room) was located behind a hidden door which was particularly neat. It was clean and the daily housekeeping service was perfect. Each morning we were served breakfast by our charming host, June. The breakfast was delicious! We had fresh fruit and yogurt, followed by eggs benedict. The owners of this property are incredibly friendly and willing to go out of their way to be helpful. I would absolutely recommend this property, and I am already looking forwards to a return visit.
“Very helpful and friendly folks”
Very nice B&B. Wonderful hosts and excellent breakfasts. Ten minutes to Biltmore on direct route.
“Pleasantly surprised”
The Tudor House was advertised as being secluded. When we turned in to a subdivision, we wondered what was going on. Imagine our surprise when we saw the gravel lane leading into a wooded area within the subdivision. 200 yards later, we found ourselves in a wooded paradise, which was indeed secluded and peaceful. The hosts, a lovely British couple, were friendly and helpful with information about the area. The breakfasts were wonderful -- truly gourmet -- served on a sun porch overlooking the woods. It was a delightful experience. We highly recommend it!!
“A Charming B&B with excellent hosts”
The greatest part of this b&b were the charming english husband and wife that ran the place. Nice and quiet at night, coupled with the soothing sound of crickets outside the window. Great breakfast and just a short drive from the Biltmore house. Would love to stay there again.
“Just plain great”
Finding an true English B&B in North Carolina was an unexpected surprise. Once we turned in to the long secluded driveway, away from the hustle and bustle, we were truly transported to another place. Alvan and June couldn't have made us feel more at home. Breakfast was superb. Close to Asheville and attractions. Relaxed atmosphere.
“very charming”
Very nice, the couple running the B & B are warm and inviting.
“Wonderful Hospitality1”
The host and hostess of this B&B are great and makethe guests feel very special. It has the feeling of seclusion even though it is close to the city and neary-by attractions.
