Excellent location- right downtown. Rooms are very very small (think New York) and quite historic.

Great Experience

Posted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: Everything
Location: Within walking distance you can find The Shakespeare Festival, coffee shops, nightclubs, gift shops, affordable restaurants and spa services.
This hotel was awesome. The location, staff, and room were great. The hotel is in walking distance of alot of great shops and food places such as the Brickroom and The Mix Sweet Shop which has the best coffee. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to relax and have a great time.

Our 3 night stay was delightful. We were upgraded upon arrival to a larger room with a view of the mountains in the distance. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were divine. The hotel has an old-world charm about it, and the room rate included a satisfying continental breakfast. The staff was polite and helpful. We have stayed at the Ashland Springs before this visit and will stay there again the next time we are in Ashland.

Quaint Hotel in Downtown Ashland

Posted Jan 18, 2015
Pros: Not too far from Southern Oregon University.
Location: Lots of shopping adjacent to the hotel
Very well kept Historic Hotel located in Downtown Ashland. The Queen Bed room was small, but cozy and well kept. All amenities were in order and the stay was pleasant. Shopping is right outside your door up and down the street.

Pros: It has an excellent location. It is a good example of good older hotel.
it was a good experience. We needed a good stopping point on a trip and it provided more than just the chain hotels on the freeway. It had a great restaurant in the hotel, which was nice because the weather was lousy.

Charming older hotel in great location

This is a gracious, old-fashioned (in the best sense of that term) hotel that offers a unique feel - with a warm and welcoming lobby that includes a gas fireplace, cozy seating, and books and curiosity cabinets for browsing. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful, and the built in breakfasts are more than good enough to start the day by merely going to the mezzanine level that overlooks the lobby (particularly festive during the Xmas season while I was there). I especially liked the location - within walking distance of where my son and daughter-in-law live, Lithia Park (another gem), and a variety of interesting shops and small restaurants. The only feature that may be a downside for some is the size of the bedrooms. Smaller, in the style of older hotel rooms, but with a good design in being redone, particularly the bathroom. Big enough, certainly, for me and certainly cozy plus very quiet for good sleeping. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on staying there the next time I am in Ashland.

Quiet place with style

I love the feel of the hotel. The history is authentic in every detail. It is like being a robber baron who arrived on horseback in need of a bath and some bourbon and was not disappointed.
