From Ashville, it's approximately 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the southwest to Birmingham and 85 miles (137 kilometers) to the southwest to Tuscaloosa.
Get a feel for the various geographic and social personalities of Northeast Alabama, by taking a road trip through the villages, towns and cities near Ashville. Attalla, is 16 miles (26 kilometers) to the southwest. Go there to check out the Wills Creek Country Club and Mountain Top Flea Market.
Gadsden is around 19 miles (31 kilometers) from Ashville. This center features a some great tourist attractions, including Twin Bridges Golf Club, Imagination Place and Gadsden Museum of Art.
