Amazing AspenPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Historic, luxurious, friendly, comfortable.
Cons: Complimentary champagne for our honeymoon would have been a nice touch, which I've received before at other 4-5 star hotels for special occasions.
Location: Shopping, hiking, music, winter sports.
My wife and I went to Aspen in the off season for our mini-honeymoon after being married the previous weekend in Laguna Beach. Neither of us had been to Aspen before and immediately fell in love with the town and the Rockies. The Hotel Jerome made a fantastic base camp for our adventures (exploring, hiking, shopping) and our nothings. The hotel has incredible character, the bar next door is fun and the breakfast is delicious. The rooms are historic, the beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are luxurious and the detail is beautiful (my wife is an interior designer and she was impressed). The staff perfectly balances the "how may we serve you attitude" with " giving you your space" ... and yes, they call you by name. We look forward to coming back again soon.

Center of AspenPosted Oct 6, 2013
This fantastic hotel right in the center of Aspen made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled up to the curb. The décor is beautiful--love the light fixtures. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive, yet respect guests who wish for less attention. The historic hotel has been refurbished with great taste and attention to every detail. It's an easy walk to any of the great restaurants nearby, and the Rio Grande Trail is steps away for a wonderful run, bike or stroll. My only slight quibbles: lighting at check-in desk is too dim for reading or writing. There is some sound transfer to rooms from bar.

Awesome!Posted Sep 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
All I can say is WOW! Staff was polite and professional, from the first second we arrived out front, till we checked out the next morning. Location is prime, blocks away from everything Aspen has to offer. They just did a complete renovation of the hotel and it is GREAT! If in Aspen, don't look any further than the Hotel Jerome.

OutstandingPosted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: Location couldn't be better.
Location: Biking 18 miles (mostly downhill) on the Rio Grande Trail was the highlight for two out-of-shape 70+ers. Also Maroon Bells and Aspen Mount (gondola)
Four night stay. Hotel recently renovated. Staff attentive and friendly. Dining excellent.

A world class hotelPosted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: As above
Location: Downtown Aspen. Walking, shopping, gondola up the mountain, nearby Aspen Institute for music.
Hotel Jerome has been through many iterations. The current is extraordinary. The lobby, rooms, food and service are at a 5 star level. Spa and athletic facilities are as good as one can get. The location convenience is perfect. Could not have been better

Outstanding StayPosted Mar 12, 2013
Cons: Room doors (to hallway) are not that sound proof. Couple of late night piano serenades - fortunately they were quite talented.
Location: Great location. Easy to walk around Aspen and to the ski hills via shuttles. Fly to Eagle/Vail vs Aspen to minimize impacts of weather.
Beautiful combination of western charm and modern amenities. Recent renovations didn't overlook a thing, The staff was professional, accommodating and friendly. Received a call a from the concierge 3 weeks in advance asking if they could assist with anything that would make our stay more pleasant. While we were not travelling with a pet, made it feel even more special that there were a few furry friends about. Living Room Lounge was always very lively. JBar does have the best burger in town! Also enjoyed an outstanding meal at the Prospect. And LOVED the Citrus salad from the breakfast menu.

Pros: Overall service outstanding. Ski concierge services a nice plus, free transport to city restaurants.
Cons: Normal route to hot tub required a stroll (in a bathrobe) through the bar..kinda embarrassing. Alternate route was available but seemingly a secret.
Location: Fine location, easy walk to most all Aspen city activities, short ride to ski areas.
Impressive renovation of this Aspen landmark. Best selling point was the quality, care, friendliness, and helpfulness of staff...really first rate in making a ski trip as easy as possible. A few quirks with the renovation of the rooms in the old part of the hotel, like no dresser in the room - we had to ask for one and they delivered one promptly... suggesting they are aware of this odd room design flaw...and maybe a need for more comfortable seating in the room, plus an odd thermostat in the bathroom that seemed to do nothing. The restaurant, Prospect, is outstanding for both breakfast and dinner but the available breakfast buffet was badly mis-priced and quite obviously underused as a consequence.
