“Great Service, poor hotel”
We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a road trip. We had issues with the Expedia reservation but the hotel was as accommodating as they could be in the process which gave them the service recommendation. The room we ended up in was acceptable but the carpet was sticky, the entertainment system was an old 23 in. CRT, and the bathroom was in complete disrepair. They did have a good bar, and restaurant and the added benefit of having a DVD rental station similar to a "Red Box" which was good for the kids. For the price in Aspen the room was acceptable and would stay there again but would reset our expectations accordingly. One benefit was that it was much closer to Aspen then staying out at Snowmass.
“Convenient location for a better price”
We had a pleasant experience for our stay. We needed a hotel for wedding In Aspen and this hotel was much more reasonable for price/value than downtown Aspen lodging. It included an outdoor pool and hot tub which looked pleasant but we didn't have the time to use them. This was a quick one night stay. Sorry that we couldn't have had another day. The area was very beautiful.
“would definitely recommend this Inn and definitely would return”
The attitude of the staff at this wonderful hotel would far and away erase the unease or "upsetedness" of any of the minor glitches or usual things that can go wrong when uitilizing such. We were treated as though we were the most special folks in Aspen by every staff person, from the time of check-in until we drove out of the parking lot to come back to the 110 degree heat. The location is great! Just far enough out to be quiet, but close enough to town to be convenient. As is usually the case, there were minor things; like a soft drink machine out of an item---yeah, bummer. And a wet spot in a carpet in the hall. But, hey--stuff happens. It did not detract in any way from the enjoyment of our stay. If you gotta go to Aspen, or if you get to go...we highly recommend the Inn at Aspen.
“Afordable but nice.”
Not 5 star but clean and close to the town and airport. The staff were VERY welcomming. Great gym.
“very cozy inn in aspen”
The Inn at Aspen is staffed with extremely nice people working there. They made sure to tell us which door would be best to go through to get to our room, they gave us our keys, asked if anything else was needed. When we asked what a good restaurant was the lady at the front desk showed us a map of the town in Aspen and circled for us what she liked and even showed us how to get there. The morning after we asked for tourist sites and the man at the front desk was more than happy to direct us to Maroon Bells and how to get us there. He even searched for google images to show us what it looked likE!. The rooms are clean and quiet and overall a really cozy place to stay.
“great place to stay--even offer transportation to town”
this was a great experience. the only negative was the breakfast--unless you like waffles or cold hard boiled eggs, bring something for yourself.
“Beautiful scenery.”
We enjoyed the lobby computer and printer, the pool and the continental breakfast all at a reasonable price.
“needs updated”
Can't beat the location and price. There was a free shuttle and free bus to take you to and from Aspen. Most of the staff was nice. The place was old and definately needed to be updated. Hallways and rooms smelled, mold in bathrooms. The beds were suprisingly comfortable and it had a nice pool. Breakfast was a bonus.
“Well placed, perfect for the skier who doesn't care about amneties”
The hotel was much smaller than expected, but it has a unique charm to it. The locale is directly in front of the base of Buttermilk mountain making it the perfect spot to begin the skiing adventure. A free shuttle takes you to Aspen, but doesn't bring you to Snowmass to ski. You need to catch the free bus across the street to go to Snowmass. It would be nicer if they would shuttle you there. The rooms are clean, but not great. The heated pool and hot tub were located outside, so they are comfortable to swim and relax in if you don't mind your feet getting cold on the 30 ft walk back into the hotel. The bar was average in price and the breakfast was better than the regular continental breakfasts out there. You get what you pay for.
“good location but poorly maintained”
ceiling leaked with a garbage can set up before aarival in the middle of the room to collect water
