In need of new cleaning staff!

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The location was convenient.
Cons: Cleanliness!
I had to change the first room that was assigned to me as there was a really loud dripping noise over the bed, non stop. Then after getting comfortable in my second room, I found hair all over the bathroom and also my sheets and pillow cases. Seems that the sheets and pillow cases were not washed after the last guest. The place is hip but it has a cheap feel. Most disturbing was the hair and cleanliness of the place, I guess everything else I could live with. Fortunately I was there only for a night and have no intentions of visiting again!

Great location at base of Ajax

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Not much
Location: L'Hosteria, NY Pizza, Aqualina, Victoria's, The Belly Up Bar, White House Tavern...all outstanding!!
Charming character and awesome service make this an easy recommendation. Not the fanciest hotel in Aspen, but the personality, price and comfort make it one of the best choices. Easy to walk anywhere in downtown Aspen and the hotel drivers are always helpful if you don't feel like walking. The staff were so helpful with local places to eat instead of the popular ones. Sunday hot tub party was fun!

Great location and people

Posted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: Location and the people. Check out the hot tub and outdoor heated pool.
Location: Its right in the center of the core of Aspen. Nuff said.
While the hotel is a little older and you have to enter your rooms from outside (and it can get quite cold), its a great hotel. Its location is literally perfect, and the people are extraordinarily helpful. Love the buffet breakfast and the pile of NY Times, WSJ and local newspapers for free in the lobby each morning. Great visit.

Eclectic

Posted Nov 22, 2013
Enjoyed the room, the exterior and lobby interior is old but outfitted with modern and contemporary nuances. Our room was especially clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptional especially the bartender and wait person in the lounge when we went for cocktails and appetizers. We had wonderful conversation with them, they were very accommodating and we ended up walking around town and then coming back to eat instead of someplace else. Our meal was good! Thanks for the nice experience.

Aspen Kimpton Sky

Posted Nov 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel location is great, slope-side, a short walk one block to the Gondola and the bar, hot tub and pool and lobby are all very adequate and enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The property was average at best. For reference: I stay about 100 nights a year mostly in Hiltons and Marriotts and I expected that, maybe even better. The hotel property itself is dated and doesn't feel very upscale, more like an average Holiday Inn or Best Western.

always great to stay there !

I stay at the Sky Hotel all the time and it always is great - in season I recommend a room on the 3rd floor - the first floor tends to get a bit noisy in the am as all the windows/patios face the streets or back alley !

Can't wait to stay here again!

Posted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: Updated, clean, right in downtown Aspen.
Cons: Can't think of anything!
Location: We were at the base of Aspen mountain (wow!), and within walking distance of all the shopping and dining we needed.
We were wowed by the Sky Hotel in Aspen. The staff was awesome, and the property beautiful. Our room had everything we wanted, and more! We can't wait to stay here again, and will definitely look up other Kimpton properties when we travel.
