“Location, Location, Location....”

Location, location, location.... The location is perfect for people who want to ski great terrain and be in the heart of the village of Snowmass. The desk staff, managers, waiters and ski valets were excellent (5) but the maids were OK (3). Over a nine day period our room was not cleaned at all on two of the days. We stayed over Christmas and the hotel had just reopened after a nicely done remodel so they may have been a bit overwhelmed with what appeared to be complete occupancy. No need to rent a car because they will shuttle you to and from the airport and there are shuttles to Aspen. We have come to Snowmass/Aspen several times and this was the easiest trip because of the location and because we didn't have to drive at all. Multiple good restaurants, Ski shops... are steps away as are the slopes. Our family will be back.

“Great ski-in, ski-out hotel”

Great experience. Great location. Right on the slopes, ski valet, great restaurant, great service, shuttle to/from the airport. They really did a great job with the remodel. Nice bar in the lobby. There were a few difficulties with one of the elevators when we first arrived but it was fixed right away. The ceilings in the hallways are low but not in the rooms. Breakfast in the Snowmass Kitchen was good, but the breads were stale. Also, there is a Starbucks you can go to practically in your pajamas. All the bars & restaurants served many New Belgian beers on tap, a plus in my mind. Large flat screen TV's in the rooms. There was a universal charging device in the room so I didn't even need to pull out my phone or iPad charger. On minor improvement -- the TV menu system did not have a local guide so I had to just channel up and down to find the programs. No big deal unless you were looking for a specific NCAA basketball game. The bathrooms were nice. Built-in nightlight, huge overhead rainfall shower head, nice marble and tile. No mini-bar but there was a refrigerator and miscellaneous options to have it stocked.

“Ski hotel”

Great location for skiing out and back in. Great hot tub, slope side. Great ski valet service. Comfy beds. Had a hard time getting temperature to lower, though.

“why”

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal and the restaurant is excellent. We were not particularly excited about the new decorum. Also it took two different elevators to get to our room and the elevators were a bit slow.

“Easy place to stay for a few days”

Fabulous location--ski in, ski out. Pleasant ambience. Took us about 3 days to figure out a reproducible way to get to our room--very confusing layout. Nice pool and hot tub area. Wonderful shuttle service to and from airport in Aspen.

“Perfectly located, newly renovated & contemporary”

Staff was very attentive. Only complaint was housekeeeping staff didn't always restock towels, shampoo/conditioner, coffee and condiments. We did have problems with a leaky toilet and sink. Room seemed very warm and temperature control didn't seem to work properly.

“Not worth the Monet”

Not up to Westin standrad. The hotel just spent a ton of money in remodeling. The hotel looks very nice, but they forgot to ADD noise reducing to add to confort, they also missed with the drapes. We paid extra to be able to enjoy the view, which is good, but you get to hear the snowmaking machines all night, you also get to hear the plumbing form your neighbors, as well as the baby crying (from the room next door) all night long. The drapes are short to the sides, which means that a lot of light comes into the room early in the morning, making it difficult to rest. They really missed it here. In addition, there was no room service available the one night I wanted to eat in my room. You also get slapped with a mandatory guest fee, which means you just threw $25 away every night, because you get free internet (which falied 4 times during our 3 night stay), ski valet (which I did not use), and local calls. At other hotels long distance calls are included in the resort fee, I made three calls (under 2 minutes each) and got billed $29 for them. In addition I tried their business center which is a shame, there is no scaner and you have to again pay $7 for 15 minutes and about $1 for every page you print, these are free at every other hotel (even cheap motels offer this for free). Does Westin really need to nickel and dime you for a few more cents after you spend $300 to $400 a night?
