“Outstanding experience, all around”

The AVA is a very nice, small hotel on a perfect little street in one of the best touring neighborhoods in Athens. The facilities are not lavish but in very good shape, clean, and very comfortable. The hotel environment is intimate and the staff very friendly and most helpful. I found it to be a good value. The street is quiet, and the best sights in Athens are all within easy walking distance - in fact, from the front door one can see the Acropolis in one direction, Hadrian's Gate in the other. Cafes and shops are literally moments away. A main street with busses and trams, as well as two Metro stations, are also an easy walk. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat.

Ultra clean boutique hotel in a perfect location for tourist activities, less than 100 yards from Hardrian's Gate at the base of the Plaka. The staff is very very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is first rate. The rooms are large for a European metro hotel and very quite thanks to double pane windows. It is a small property with maybe 20 rooms but it does not have any of the small hotel "quirks". I can only say positive things about this hotel. A totally pleasant experience.

We really appreciate the service provided by Maria Kooka (in particular), Mika, Yannis and Costa. The room was clean, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is superb and near to all historical sites and shopping districts.

“Great reception”

We were very happy with the Ava hotel. We arrived early and were told that due to a last minute cancellation, they had a suite available that was ready - that we could take for 35 Euro extra and included breakfast. We took it and the room was great with a balcony that had a view of the acropolis and hadrian's gate. We were traveling with our infant and they set up a nice cot complete with baby pillow and stuffed toy. It was very cute. About a half hour after getting in our room, there was a knock on the door and the staff arrived with some complimentary champagne. It was a fun and nice surprise! Everyone we spoke with was friendly and we had a good experience there.

“PERFECT LOCATION FOR ATHENS' ANCIENT RUINS”

The hotel was in a perfect location, which was within about 10 mins. walking distance fromthe Acropolis. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful in giving us directions; assisting us with transportation to and from the hotel and just generally very courteous. We would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to other travelers to Athens.

This hotel is excellent. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the location is great for touring the Plaka, the Acropolis, and all the other sites of Athens.

“Athens-WOW can't wait to return”

This hotel is at the foothills of the Acropolis. What a stunning view!! At the begginning of the street are additional antiquities that are just beautiful. It is locat rght in the hart of the Plaka where you can walk around in peace and just brwse to your hearts content. There are lotsof cozy restaurants and since the hotel is furnished with a kitchenette area, we found a deli shop close by with fresh bread and cheese for breakfast. There is a separate bedroom with a king sized very comfortable bed and then there is a living room with foldout sofa bed. To make it even more comfortable for us, they gave us a roll away bed too. The night of our stay, the air conditioning did not work, so we had to open the balcony doors which concerned me because the street we were on was quite busy. We were pleasantly surprised because the noise level quitted down at night. It was very nice. I wish we had more than one night there and next time, we plan to stay longer. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!!! This place has it all.

“Location & Service - can't be beat”

AVA Hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of the front office staff's friendliness, ability and customer service (they all spoke excellent English and were very patient with us). The room/suite was of great quality with superior toiletries, nice linens and good kitchen amenities. Location and proximity to main attractions of Athens (as well as to the Metro and Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus) could not be beat. Friends we traveled with preferred to meet us at AVA Hotel before sightseeing and dinner each day since we could walk to excellent restaurants in Plaka. I wished we could have stayed another day or two at AVA Hotel. Overall quiet location, but be aware that the actual street the hotel resides on is rundown - Athens is an old city in need of repair, so it's no surprise.

“Extremely good location”

Best location you could hope for to be able to walk to all the main attractions. We were upgraded to a suite, which has two large rooms and a kitchen and a balcony that looks into the Acropolis, and is we were going back again I would book a suite next time, the higher the better (it has 4 floors).
