“Great Value”
The staff is helpful. The included breakfast is great with fresh squeezed orange juice, etc. The room was comfortable but the A/C needs to be cooler, and small stains in the upholstery should be removed or change it. Location is about a block away from the American Embassy in a very quiet street. Very easy to get to the airport from there by car. A pretty good value hotel.
“Excellent value and fine service”
We were pleased to return for a night in October 2007, having previously stayed in September 2004. Some might consider the location (two blocks from the U. S. Embassy) a bit "uptown", but a Metro stop is 6-7 minutes away and the airport is readily and reasonably accessible by Metro or express bus. The room was surprisingly large and quite comfortable. We will return.
“Definitely Recommended”
Excellent hotel! We are an American family of 5 with pre-teen's and I was concerned for my children's safety when booking. When we arrived, we immediately felt good about this choice and our impression improved as we became more familiar with the hotel. We were in 2 adjacent junior suites and we stayed 2 nights. The staff were awesome...especially Nikos at the front desk who was extremely helpful in arranging our tours, rental car, etc. The rooms were very clean and properly appointed. The included breakfast buffet each morning was great. The area is definately upscale and gave us a comfortable felling. The hotel is a short taxi ride or metro ride from the city center. The tour bus picked us up at the hotel. Only downside is no pool (we were there to tour so it did not affect us). If I go back to Athens for any reason, I will stay here again.
“Friendly small hotel, good base for exploring Athens”
tucked away in quiet side street just a few tube stops/5min taxi ride to all places of interest. All staff were extremely helpful and breakfast was good. Recommended a brilliant restaurant nearby which we would never had found for a birthday dinner. Also helped us with booking flights to Santorini when bad weather stopped ferry crossings. We had a suite which was good size, albeit decor was slightly bizarre and bed rock hard (which we have found before in Greece)
“Great hotel with friendly staff”
This hotel was the best hotel we stayed at during our entire one month trip. It was extremely clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and recognized us everytime we would walk by. They always had a smile on their faces, even when we arrived at 4:30 in the morning, and were always willing to help us out (in their best english), especially when the airline had lost our bags, which ended up in our room the next day - YAY. The buffet breakfast was delicious and we even had dinner on our last night in the restaurant and were offered a free dessert - baclava - because it was our last night (how sweet - the service and the food).
“Great hotel”
Alexandros was a great hotel it was close enough to all the places that you wanted to see. The complimentary breakfast was great. The staff were very helpful when we had questions and wanted to send post cards. I would recommend this hotel to others and i will hopefully go back in the next 5 years.
“Fantastic trip”
Location a bit of a trek from main sites, but taxi's available if you book them. Hotel is fabulous - we had a suite and it was worth the upgrade.Service excellent, food good too.Staff very pleasant - will try their hardest to please. Strongly recommend the Alexandros and will definitely use it again - so much in Athens that it needs several trips. Reception arranged a couple of trips for us, and they were informative, fun and reasonable.
“Friendly staff, good location, clean, comfortable and good breakfast.”
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during long easter weekend, booked through Expedia. It's not too far from 2 metro stations, both connecting directly to the Airport. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Staff are extremely friendly. Our double room was good sized, with a kettle, cups and tea bags/coffee provided.(Trust me this is a rear 'treat' for a non-uk hotel). Mini bar was sufficiently full, though we never actually used it. There's central air conditioning in the hotel, but it wasn't switched on at the time of our visit (mid-april). We're told it starts in summers (I guess it means when mercury is seriously high), we had to agree with them as most Greek fellas were wearing/holding their jackets at 20c. I guess they had no idea, how it'd feel if you come from London and get that kind of temprature...it is summer. We didn't miss it that much too, for most rooms have good sized balconies, and you can open french doors to get some fresh air, though it can be a bit noisy at night time, if your room is on the on the front side of hotel. But you can always request a room on the other side of hotel. So, if you're after a good (4 star - or Greece A class) hotel, within walking distance (15-20min. walk) to cental Athens, good breakfast and dinner, late room service (till mid-night), friendly staff, then look no further. Overall: Recommended for Leisure and Business travellers.
