The hotel was very close to the beach and near restaurents and only a EURO 17 ride to Athens city - so it was well postioned. It was clean and thstaff were all very frendly. The rooms were average in terms of furnishings - but this was not important.

Hotel was great. Location fantastic.... Outside athens is a bonus. Breakfast was great with plenty of variety. Little cafes along waterfront or bus into glyfada.

Definitely not 4 star & poor management ethos
Posted Jan 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
Pros: Very pleasant and helpful reception & bar staff; view of sea from balcony; free 24 hour Wi-Fi; free use of computer & printer; good breakfast buffet; clean & bright bedroom & bathroom Cons: In the middle of nowhere; uncomfortable beds with mattresses constantly sliding of bedframe; airconditioner didn't work - minimum temperature of 26 degrees Centigrade; clean but very cramped bathroom with airvents that transmitted sounds of neighbouring room guests ablutions & toilet flushing & no hooks for bathrobes etc; hotel deserted with maximum of 10 guests but management still squashed us in rooms next to one another - lost the opportunity to make us grateful guests by upgrading us to rooms which were empty; work supplies (wood shelves?) left on corridor opposite the few guest rooms that were in use!!; no dedicated area for left luggage - left in public reception area; part of public reception area cordoned off for use by manager as his office!!! (never seen that done before even in 3 star hotels). Overall AVOID unless rate so cheap these issues don't matter

Nice stop before flying home after island trip.

The hotel was a pleasant experience for one night after a week in the Cyclades before flying out. close to the beach and a nearby wonderful seafood restaurant, and with a pool where you can swing and relax with drinks and snacks.

Just what you need

This hotel is in a perfect location for the local beaches and there are two convenience shops within walking distance, as well as lots of sea front restaurants. The hotel staff are very friendly. We tried to do everything the local way using buses and travelling by foot - this was only possible because of the helpful reception staff. Our only issue was with taxi drivers not knowing where the hotel was despite having a full address with us at all times.

Walk to beach

This is a very clean hotel, comfortable furniture in room, good shower, great breakfast (cost extra but was worth it), we asked for a room with ocean views, hotel is a three minute walk to beach and also two very nice restaurants. Amarilia Hotel is well placed between Athens City and Acropolis, Museum etc and the Airport.

A fantastic Athens seaside resort
Posted Jan 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
We had a superior room with a queen bed and a sea view on the fourth floor. The view was fantastic and the proximity to the beach was amazing. Breakfast was included and the spread was good. There are a few restaurants nearby that serve great mediterranean food and we often stayed close for dinner. It's about a 50 minute bus ride to the Athens city center and a 25 euro cab ride there. So it's an ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We couldn't ask for better accommodations.

What makes Amarilia stands out from all other hotels are the amazing staff and service, and always with a smile. We stayed 5 days here at the start of our holiday and came back for 1 more night after visiting Paros island. I would highly recommend it on every level, wonderful breakfast, service etc. The reception staff even organised a pizza delivery for us on our last night as we were too tired to go out! The only negative is the pool area is not so good, surrounded by buidlings on 3 sides, so the sun disappears in the afternoon, and it is unfortunate they do not do dinners in the evening as I'm sure it would also have been a wonderful experience. However if I am visiting Athens coast again, I will definitely return to the Amarilia!
