Nice hotel and very convenient.Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Convenience and Cleanliness. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and are fluent in many languages including English.
Cons: May be, the hotel should consider building more rooms.
Location: All the places of interest like Akropoli, Kolonaki, Omonia Square and Syntagma Square are very nearby. The City Center is only a few minutes away.
I have stayed at this hotel four times during the past five years. The Apollo Hotel is only 3 minutes walking distance from the Metaxourgio Metro Station. It is one of the nicest and cleanest hotels that I came across in Athens. The hotel staff are very friendly and one of the hotel staff knows me quite well. All the staff speak English very fluently along with other languages like German, French, and Italian. I had a very good view of the Parthenon when I stayed in Rooms 506 and 606. Also, I had a very good internet connection (free service) and free breakfast buffet daily. This hotel is really worthy of the money that we pay for staying in the hotel. This area is pretty safe for anyone to stay.

approach with the right frame of mindPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Location... subway stop right outside. All key areas are a quick tube away. Lots of late night cheap eats as it's close to taxi depot.
Cons: there is a shower door but it leaks. You might as well just consider it a wet bathroom.
Location: Acropolis, Plaka, Monastiraki district/ Flea Market
For the price I paid (under USD 50!), in the US this would mean a room at a budget hotel chain, slightly run down motel and/ or a private room in a hostel... outside of major metro area. If you approach Apollo with the right frame of mind, you wouldn't go wrong. It's location is the best draw card - Plaka is just 10/15 mins subway ride away, and Monastiraki district/ Flea Market is even closer. The rooms are very basic; TV does work (badly), the interior facing rooms have no light and the shower door was broken. But hey, it's somewhere to rest your head... and the bed was clean and comfortable (if you like firm mattresses, which I do). This hotel is best for people who are just quickly stopping through Athens en route to the Islands, for example.

Great LocationPosted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: The location was perfect and the staff was really nice.
Cons: The internet connection went out often.
Location: almost everything was in walking distance.
The hotel was in the middle of Athens. 45 min drive from the airport. Walking distance to a tour bus. Great view of the Parthenon. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was nice to start your day. The restaurant on the roof was a nice place to eat after a long day of sightseeing (great views).

Works for me!Posted May 8, 2014
The hotel is approx 100 metres from the nearest Metro, so that is a great help to start with. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and of a reasonable size, water hot and plentiful. Our balcony looked over a tiny public garden with fountain and, as an additional bonus, we could see part of the Acropolis between two buildings. The breakfast consisted of fruit, cereal, greek yoghurt and honey, ham, cheese, bread, boiled and scrambled eggs. More than enough to set you up for the day if so desired. To me a hotel is merely a bed and a shower - a base from which to explore. If you want luxury this probably isn't the place for you. But if you want cleanliness, helpfulness, affordability, etc then I can recommend this hotel without reservation.

Pros: Location is very convenient to all major site in Athens!
Cons: Wifi services is so slow.
Location: Walking distance to metro and to the city center.
Staff were very accommodating and spend time explaining the whereabouts of Athens especially sites that we shouldn't missed even to the extend of hiring taxis for us!

A star too manyPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Breakfast and the staff.
Cons: Refurnish the room
Location: Convenient for the sites but in an area with a number drunks and junkies on the street. The traffic noise was loud day and night.
The main issue is the quality of the room. It is small and poorly furnished. The bed was supposed to be a double but was 2 singles pushed together. It was hard and uncomfortable. It was difficult to use any electrical equipment as the only available socket was nowhere any furniture to put it on. The wifi signal was low and intermittent. On the plus side the bathroom was clean and functional but the sliding door was poorly fitting. Nice view of parthenon from balcony.

Pros: Location, cleanliness, safety.
Location: Visit the acropolis and the new acropolis museum, very close to metro
We were impressed by this hotel, it was offering budget deals and the accommodations surpassed our expectations. The staff was available 24 hrs and were friendly and very helpful. It's location is fantastic for the metro and the acropolis. Our room had a view of the acropolis and was the entire hotel was very clean, spacious and modern. Breakfast buffet had everything you should need for a hearty healthy breakfast. I have already recommended it to friends.
