Cons: Decor, accessibility to internet
I was able to check in early which was nice but the only free internet was in the lobby, the decor of the room was outdated with peeling wallpaper and a ratty old bedspread and lumpy pillow. The breakfast was subpar, canned fruit and bad coffee.

Excellent location

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Maybe a bigger bath
Location: Location is awesome with bars, restaurants, shops, flea market, Acropolis all close by
We had 3 nights at this hotel last week. The hotel is in a superb location close to many bars, restaurants and shops and very close to transport links ( the main hop on hop bus stop is 2 minutes walk ). We had a room on the 6th floor with a balcony that looked towards the Acropolis. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff ( especially Costa and Sevi ) were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb with a good choice of well prepared hot and cold dishes all served on the roof terrace with spectacular views of Athens and the Acropolis We would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Nice Hotel with View of Acropolis from some rooms

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: Most of thhe Front office staff was really good.
Cons: Cpuld be easily upgraded to a four star Hotel
Location: Every thing important is nearby. Great Loacation
Our experience was great. Except that we had requested late check out at time of booking by calling the Hotel. as our flight was at 9pm. We were told that they would charge 50 Euro per room, which I accpeted. But once at the Hotel there was a definite know from the Lady who said she was the front office manager. She new that not all the rooms got full by 2pm as she stated. There were many late chhecck inns. This was a the only disappointment.

Centre of Town

Pros: Incredible view of Acropolis from dining room and some higher rooms, accessibility to all parts of Athens by public transport or walking
Cons: Furnishings a little dated
Perfectly located for Metro to/from airport and all public transport. City centre location surrounded by shops, restaurants and within easy walking distance of attractions. Very safe walking around. Staff extremely helpful and knowledgable

Around the corner from Syntagma, walk to markets

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Location, access to markets, staff, breakfast buffet, amazing terrace views, free wifi (but only in reception area)
Cons: Attention to room detail- a wallpaper tear and a crack in the mirror. Minor details, but could make the difference in feeling welcomed
Location: 5 mins to Syntagma Metro, Athens Happy Train sightseeing, short walk to Pandrossou, Adrianou, Ermou streets for shopping, easy access to major sights
Amazing reception staff, breathtaking panoramic views of the Acropolis and Athens (night and day), short walk to Syntagma and accessibility to Metro, Athens Happy Train around the corner which is a great sightseeing experience for first timers, walk to markets in Pandrossou and Adrianou streets, shopping in nearby Ermou street. On arrival the staff were courteous and helped me to a cab on short notice for a prebooked dinner arrangement, welcomed me on my return, and were efficient with requests and were very knowledgeable. Breakfast on the 10th floor was served with the Acropolis on view and there was a generous selection of buffet, great quality. The only comment was it was extremely busy, and was hard to find a seat - get in early to avoid disappointment. The room was spacious, with generous drawer and cupboard space, a bath, aircon. The bed was a bit on the springy side. Will definitely be returning to Athens and staying at the Astor.

Easy access to airport. Close to everything....they even pack a breakfast bag to take with you if you leave before breakfast begins. Hotel staff are helpful. Would definitely stay again.

If you want to see Athens in two days, I would stay in this hotel, it is very close to most attractions. Breakfast is excellent. the rooms are outdated but good for a short stay.

Stayed 2 nights The Hotel was reasonably clean,Staff friendly & helpful though the carpets need a re-do. Its close to the Station and Syntagma Sq and some attractions. Its ideally located to all amenities. The breakfast was also satisfying & would stay there again ifI visit Athens

Amazing views of the Parthenon

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Views of the Parthenon
Cons: Free wifi in the room
Location: Perfect location to all tourist attractions and metro stations
Too bad the reception staff are always too busy and a little brusque, otherwise this would be an amazing hotel. Well situated and with amazing views of the Parthenon. Free wifi in the lobby but not in the rooms

A good central option

Posted Aug 5, 2014
A no fuss option - neat, clean hotel & close to the action but not too close! It was lovely to be offered a 'breakfast pack' to go, because I had to check out early & miss the breakfast session.
