“Expensive but worth every penny”

The hotel was luxurious and spotless. Huge not just by European standards but American as well. Cannot beat the rooftop pool and view of the Acropolis. The free shuttle to the sites was prompt & reliable. Hotel restaurants a little pricey but there were a few off site options down the street. Get really good directions to the hotel & too the airport. Do not rely on the signs they are everywhere but sometimes hidden and too often confusing.

“Great Place”

This is an very good hotel with a very professional staff that cares about their guests. There is a lot of construction going on near the hotel so you will have to deal with that if you go for a walk. They have a free shuttle to the downtown area and the Acropolis every hour so you won't have to deal with the Taxi bandits.

Only minus was the pigeons that lived outside our window, made the window dirty. The rest was as it should be on a Marriott, superb.

“Great Hotel and Staff”

We stayed 6 days at the Marriott and loved every minute of it. The location was awesome, the views were great. The staff was always helpful and the resturants were out of this world ( a bit expensive, but worth every penny) They had a tour desk which we took full advantage of and went on 1 day tours and a one day cruise, it was one of the best trips of my life so far. The only bad thing was that the our room faced a major highway and some of the road noise was a bit loud, but all in all our trip was awesome.

“Very Comfortable”

This hotel was very nice. The staff was extremely helpful with anything that we asked of them. The room was very clean. The free shuttle service was very helpful getting to and from the city center, which actually was not that far away if you wanted to walk. The restaurants were good the only problem we had was with the breakfast. We chose to eat breakfast there one morning because we did not include it in our room, and for the two of us to have a breakfast buffet was extremely over priced. Other than that everything was fantastic.

“Mikiejoe's Stay”

Nice hotel and we were okay with the location. Most of the negative comments about the location weren't warranted in my mind. It's your typical large city surroundings...mostly not that nice. However, my wife, 13 year old son and I, walked from the hotel to the subway station every day. The walk was about 15-20 minutes (for us) and we felt very safe. We aren't afraid to walk and we find that most people are frankly too lazy to walk that distance. There is a walkway that goes under the highway that many people commented on. Also, along the way, there is a FABULOUS gelato shop...the best we have had since our three years in Italy. The hotel was nice, breakfast is better than most hotels in Europe and the pool is awesome. We did find it pricy compared to other restaurants in the area and I was disappointed in Expedia and the hotel when it came to internet service. I asked multiple times about the availability and was never given a price. The hotels website had prices listed for every thing except internet service, which it otherwise detailed very well. They don't tell you the shuttle doesn't run the same times on the wekend as it does during the week (hence taking the subway almost every day). The pool is all that we heard it would be...it wasn't the largest pool but big enough and the view is breathtaking. The lady that works there is incredible and does everything to make you comfortable. All in all, it was worth it and I would go back.

“I would thoroughly recommend this hotel”

The hotel was everything that we expected from a five star chain hotel. Within walking distance to the Acropolis - about 25 minutes but there was also a useful shuttle bus which left the hotel every 30 minutes. The room was good. We had one facing the back of the hotel which was a relief as the front of the hotel faced on to a very busy and fast road. The breakfast was fantastic if expensive. The rooftop pool and sunlounger area was wonderful to lie out in and relax with an amazing view to the Acropolis. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

“Beautiful Athens Hotel”

Loved the 4th floor with access to the breakfast area. Lovely workers. Beautiful view of the Acropolis from the roof/pool area, which also has a good restaurant there.
