Comfortable stay!Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Our room was always very clean well made when we returned from our days out. The King bed was VERY comfortable.
Cons: A larger range of breakfast choices would have been nice.
Location: The hotel is in the city where Ohio University is located. We stayed for a family reunion in Athens.
I have read the negative comments and ratings about this hotel, however, I do not agree. We recently stayed at this location for 4 nights. The King bed in our bed was extremely comfortable. The room was always very clean. There was a refrigerator in the room which worked very well for our needs. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast choices were minimal. It would have been nice if there were healthier choices for breakfast rather than 3 sweetened cereals and raisin bran. The fruit was always fresh. The only hot item available were the waffles which is another carbohydrate. Rather than have the sweetened yogurts choices, it would have been nice to have some more "adult" type yogurts such as a Greek yogurt option. All in all, our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. We would stay again.

Clean and HandyPosted Jul 3, 2014
Best thing about hotel is that it is clean and handy to any point you are going in Athens...OU, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Is currently being remodeled which should boost future ratings.

Quiet and easy to access from OU campus.Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: It was clean and quiet.
Cons: The room did have a smoky presence about it. That could be improved.
Location: There were restaurants near by and the highway was accessible. It was not far from OU or downtown shopping.
My daughter, her friend, her friend's grandmother and I stayed at the hotel. We slept comfortably and during our stay, we noticed that the hotel was being repainted and cleaned well. Overall, we were quite happy there.

TerriblePosted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: lady at the desk was nice.
Cons: Needs updating badly. Rates need to be adjusted according to quality of the facility. Hallway and entry to rooms needs to be cleaned and deodorized. I
Location: close to freeway and two restaurants. Several miles to Ohio University Campus and downtown Athens.
This place was terrible, especially considering the very high price of the room. The "secure" entry was open when we first took our bags to the room. The area inside and out around this entry door was run down, dirty and smelly. When we entered the hallway to the rooms wall paper had been torn off the wall and was laying in big piles. The carpet was dirty, worn and the odor was very bad. The room seemed clean. But there was no bedspread or quilt or bed skirt on the two queen beds, just sheets and a blanket. I've never stayed in a room like this! The box springs were visible! Towels were o.k. air conditioner worked only on the very lowest setting and the T.V. only had one channel (the remote control didn't work). The furniture was old and really beat up. The bathroom was so tiny, you had to walk in the room and get behind the door and close it in order to use the commode. For the price, this should have been a deluxe suite! Our trip was an overnight for student orientation at Ohio University.

OU Mom @ the hotel.Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Close to OU and room was clean.
Cons: Effecient AC, bottled water at breakfast.
Location: Loved it was so close to OU.
The room was clean. #1 importance. Pool has handicap lift for impaired swimmers. I thought that was nice. But I was on the second floor and had to haul my bags upstairs. Unless I missed the elevator, they don't have one. Vending machine broke. I am sure that is temporary. At breakefast when I asked for a bottle of water, the attendant said I would have to use the OJ machine and a coffee cup. Breakfast didn't look great but, I grabbed a orange a cup of water a headed for campus. Overall, I felt safe, it was clean and close to campus. It also had a pool for our younger daughter. For the price, it works. I'VE STAYED IN MUCH WORSE AROUND ATHENS! I will stay here again.

Very accommodating location.Posted Jun 2, 2014
Athens, OH is a small town with few hotels. I was able to get a reservation for a very busy weekend at the Baymont which is enough to campus and the new restaurants in the city. Accommodations were clean and quiet and the staff was very friendly. I was very pleased and plan to stay there whenever I'm in Athens again. No need to stay in campus housing again!

Ok HotelPosted Jun 2, 2014
This hotel is average. It is being remodeled but that didn't effect my stay. The staff were great and the breakfast was ok. I would stay at the hotel again.

Good value in terms of quality and price.Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Overall, it was clean, not at all noisy, and a reasonably priced hotel.
Cons: My room keys had to be replaced twice given that the magnetic strip stopped working.
Location: Athens is a charming little town, but there is a limited amount of culture and cuisine. Ohio University is very pretty, and certainly worth a visit.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my room had a personal jacuzzi. That more than made up for the slim selections in the breakfast room. The pre-fab waffle batter is never a good thing; there was cereal in individual serving sizes, some yogurt (although an unusual amount of that yogurt was labeled as having Trix cereal in the container). No thank you. There is a Bob Evan's across the parking lot, but that may not fit your budget (I only went once because it certainly did not fit my budget). The room was priced well, especially given the surprising personal jacuzzi. The location of the hotel was convenient to a bike path that I took every day for my conference at Ohio University...probably less convenient to sites in Athens for those on foot. Very easy to find as it is just off the interstate, and easy to access the interstate once you leave. Make no mistake: this is not a luxury hotel! This is a hotel that has frayed carpeting, tired wallpaper, and smallish bathrooms. But all of those things seem tolerable given the overall quality of the hotel.
