“One of the BEST 3 STAR Hotels in Europe”

This rating is for the Best Western Museum and NOT the Pythagorion because they first one had electrical problems so they moved me to the Museum one. The staff was EXCELLENT!!! especially Stathis, who works 3-11. The other front desk staff was great also. They were all VERY friendly and VERY helpful. They made sure that my stay was a good one and they took the time to get to know me personally. They were also very accommodating when I asked for suggestions about sightseeing, places to eat, etc. They even called the tour place and changed a tour day for me so that I could book another tour that was only available for the one day. The breakfast was superb and there was not ANY problem with the free WI-FI. The hotel was close to a bus line, a 24 hour ATM (across the street from the Park Hotel). which was only a few block down from the BW Museum, AND a Police Station. Tour buses pick up at a very close central location and it was VERY easy to get a taxi. My only disappointment was the shower, which was somewhat less than what I am accustomed to as an American. Other than that, I will DEFINITELY stay there again!!! I will tell ALL of my friends to book into this hotel because it was the STAFF that made it all worth while.

“great value, great location”

Great place to unwind and cool off, centrally located. Taxis only 3 euros from Acropolis. Don't take a taxi for a flat rate. They'll ask ten to fifteen euros when it's less than three on the meter. The hotel is friendly and quiet, easy to walk to from anywhere around the city center. The price is right, too.

“Good value”

This hotel is perfect if you just need a nice bed with clean sheets and a nice clean bathroom with hot shower. It is very convinent because they have free wifi in the rooms and free breakfast. They also have AC and it is great spend the night before you catch the ferry to go to the Islands or if you just want a nice and safe place with good location to explore Athens on a budget. The Staff is very helpful and will explain to you in a map the nice areas and hot to get to the train stations (metro is only a 50 meter walk) when you arrive. This hotel is not the greatest if you expect 15000 channels with jacuzzi and swimming pool because it is not that type of hotel. It is a smart hotel for a smart traveler in a budget but that is willing to spend the a little extra money to ensure that the hotel will be clean, convinent and safe.

very nice hotel, excellent staff, good breakfast. the location is near the omonia Square, the streets full with bagers and thiefs and pickpockets. be careful.

We enjoyed our hotel very much. it was walking distances to all the great sites. I would recommend this hotel.

“Superb care, excellent accessibility”

Our only regret is that we were not staying longer than our 9 night stay! We had special need for a quiet room and were surprised that our top-floor balcony room was both quiet and provided a glimpse of the Acropolis (not all rooms did.) We had a double bed and a single bed with reasonable breathing space, a good clothes closet, a workable bathroom and a small refrigerator. Breakfast was substantial and even available a little early when we had to be ready for a day tour. When the tour company (which claimed to pick us up and drop us off at the hotel) dropped us in an unfamiliar spot after dark the gentleman at the desk called and arranged for an additional free half-day tour. The hotel is located about a block and a half from the Omonia subway stop and about the same distance from another stop. It is not in the touristy area beneath the Acropolis but the location allowed us quick access via subway to all the sites we wanted to see. It is plus that the hotel is right next to the National Theater making it easy to ask directions and to find it on tourist maps. We want to go back! We have been to China, to five nations in Africa, to 7 other European nations so we know quality care provided at reasonable prices. This hotel has it all.

Excellent staff, very clean hotel. Reasonably priced with substantial free breakfast -- eat indoors or outdoors with waterfront view. Located at edge of the old city; safe walking distant to historical attractions, variety of restaurants, and shopping for souvenirs or carpets.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Hotel Pythagorion. It was close to the Metro. The staff was great in helping us with area information and setting up our day tours. The room was comfortable and quiet at night. The continental breakfast was good and plentiful and there were a lot of cafes in the area. We will stay there again if we are ever in Athens.
