“Great Hotel in Greece”

Almost 25 days of trip, 10 different hotels and this was the best one. The staff were very helpfully, breakfast excelent, great localization, good room. And they lend laptops for free (great option to upload photos from cameras).

“Lovely hotel for a short break in Athens!”

We stayed for four days and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - upgrading our room when the air conditioning unit was making funny noises and contacting our airport transfer when it was running a little late in the city traffic. The breakfast was sufficient to start off the day and the rooms were lovely and clean. The only slight downside (and this wasn't an issue for us at all) is that the roads immediately around the hotel aren't the nicest. However it is only a minute's walk from the metro station and it is one stop into the main centre of Athens - It is easily walkable too though so it wasn't a problem for us at all. Overall I can thoroughly recommend this hotel for a short break in Athens.

Hotel staff especailly made the trip so much better. The folks at the front desk were fluent English Speakers. They helped us plan our day and made sure we knew how to get places. Cleanliness was just amazing. The lady who cleaned our room did an outstanding job.

Chic hotel was lovely; new(or renovated), convenient, clean, good location, good breakfast and friendly reception guys also. I would like to go there again.

Not in the best area of downtown Athens. Surrounding places were dirty and we were told dangerous.

“Decent Hotel, questionable location...”

I would recommend the Chic Hotel, but only to the more 'open minded' and streetwise of traveller. The hotel itself was smart, (that doesn't mean luxury, but basic and neat), and pretty convienient to access all the local sights etc. The rooms were clean but small, decent breakfast, and the staff really helpful and polite. The road it's on is busy and noisy, however a short walk will get you into the side streets where a bit of quiet can be found and some great food and drinks. A 10 minute walk will pretty much get you to Monastiraki, a central point for exploring. A couple of minutes the other way will take you to Ormonia Square and it's tube station. Getting about is easy from here. The reason for this being suited to the street wise is that by night, the area around the square does show it's shadier side. We never felt threatened (been to a lot of cities so not really fazed by them) but there were plenty of prostitutes in the next street (they were very forward!) and saw some homeless types taking drugs too. This happens in every city in the world but I was surprised at how visible it all was. Minded our own business though and had no bother at all. I can understand visitors being put off by this but the more streetwise will choose to ignore it I guess, as we did. We enjoyed our time in Athens and the Hotel was a perfectly good choice for a base to explore from. Just go there with an open mind.

The main street on which the hotel is situated is fine, but keep in mind that the surrounding streets leave much to be desired. The hotel itself is clean, modern and friendly.

“Chic Hotel”

Design hotel on the interior - with very good service etc but the location is in a very intimidating neighbourhood which is very misleading when reading the hotel details in terms of location. Just be wary of this as it is a major factor in booking your hotel, location and surrounding.

“Very Poor Neighborhood”

Hotel is new, the staff is very good, breakfast is very good, the bed is not bad, shower is very very very pooooor, the neighborhood is drugs, prostitution, pick pockets …etc.
