“Great Hotel for the Price”

The hotel was pretty nice and very clean (which is really important to me). The upstairs deck had a GREAT view of the city, especially at night. I stayed in hotels around Greece, and the two in Athens that I stayed at were definately the best. You just have to keep in mind that it IS a 3-star hotel and I think that's a pretty fair rating. Besides, you don't spend a lot of time in the hotels anyways. Overall the hotel was clean, the service was good, and location was okay (but just about everything in Athens is walkable, or you can take the train, which the Dorian was very close to)

“Perfect for our Athens Layover”

We stayed here during the first night of our Honeymoon before we took the ferry to Santorini. The hotel was nice and clean. The beds were pretty hard but that seemed to be the case everywhere we stayed. The roof deck which has a bar and pool is awesome and has an incredible view of the Acropolis.

“Try to get the balcony room - great views!”

Stayed there with my wife in Nov 2008 for the Athens Classic Marathon and we enjoyed our stay! Pros: 1 block to metro station. Only 1/2 mile walk to city center for shopping and dining options. Great roof top bar/pool (pool closed when we went in Nov) with views of the Acropolis. Excellent buffet breakfast in the morning. We had a room with a fridge, which is nice for storing your own food/beverage. Cons: Omonia square and the street that the hotel is on is a prime site for drug dealing. Safety wasn't a concern for us as a couple or individually (my wife felt safe navigating the streets alone) and police were always nearby. Not sure if they have air conditioning, but because of the building heat, the room was a bit too warm... not sure if the heat would be an issue without seeing an a/c for the area in a warmer time of the year. Have to pay for internet use. Overall: We had a 10th floor room with a balcony that overlooked the Acropolis. The location, while not the nicest area, was perfectly situated for getting anywhere in the city, and the metro is quite inexpensive for getting around town and to get there from the airport. I would recommend this hotel in spite of the issues discussed as cons above.

“Convenient budget hotel”

Less then 5 minutes walk from major subway station. Hotel is located in neighborhood with undesirable characters. Walking around alone at night is not recommemded.

“For the price, a good choice.”

Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. Got us cheap transportation to the airport when all were on strike. Location was near bus lines and subway and a not so long walk to the old town and central market. Complimentary breakfast was so-so. Opened at 6:30 but hot foods did not come out until after 7. Surrounding neighborhood was not so inviting. Got lost there once trying to take a short cut. Glad it was daylight. We stuck to the main streets after that. Top floor bar had spendy food but drinks were good prices. View of the Acropolis was great, especially during a lightening storm. Pool was cold in Sep.

“Nice hotel,bad surounding.”

Hotel was nice,spacious clean room,rich breakfast(but they have to do something with the coffee and drinks-both bad).The area is a bit bad,definatelly not a place for single females or for those who wish to return at the hotel late at night:It does not look very safe and also not very clean. On the other hand metro is close and thats a plus.

The hotel was nice and clean. Close to a bank and the metro. I had no problem communicating with the hotel staff and the breakfast was very good.
