Pros: Great location, convenient to the Acropolis.
Location: This is in the heart of the tourist district and right by the Acropolis museum.
The hotel was okay, but definitely not what I consider a 4 star. The reception, breakfast, and housekeeping staff were pleasant and responsive. However, the bar and Point staff were disappointing and borderline incompetent. It took 20 minutes to get a Coke from the bar and we were told twice to wait another 5 minutes. While we were there another guest went ballistic and started yelling because he had been waiting almost an hour for 3 drinks and a brownie. We left but could still hear them from the stairs on the 2nd floor. Our waiter at the Point restaurant wanted us to order right when we were seated, before offering any information on specials or asking for a drink order. Once we received our food he wouldn't come back to our table. We finally got his attention and asked for a dessert menu. He handed us a Greek menu and flashlight and disappeared. After playing with the flashlight for a while we flagged down another waiter and were able to ask about the dessert items on the menu and place our order. I ordered a digestif at the same time because I wasn't sure when I would get the chance again. That was the last we saw of a waiter. I had to go to the hostess to request the bill.

Great hotel, great locationPosted Jul 6, 2014
I have always wanted to visit Athens and spent ages searching for a hotel with everything I wanted: central location, wow factor, included extras. Herodian Athens turned out to be perfect. Literally down the road from the Acropolis, a ten minute walk to the Temple of Zeus/National Gardens. About 15 minutes to Syntagma Square! Perfect for doing City Sightseeing hop on hop off bus as it goes right past Herodian. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. They were happy to book us on tours, call us taxis and carry our cases. Our room was great with a balcony which had a view of the olive trees and greenery around the restaurant. Our room was cleaned daily and given fresh towels. food in the hotel was beautiful, definitely recommend the kebab! Last but not least the view from the rooftop restaurant is breath taking. The Acropolis lit up is beautiful. There are awesome views from every angle you look. All in all my boyfriend and I had a very special 1st holiday together and will definitely come back to the Herodian Athens!

Pros: Location, amenity and staff.
Cons: Lighten the colours in the corridors - a bit dingy.
Location: The New Acropolis Museum is right next door and quite stunning. A must see for all.
Welcoming and obliging staff coupled with a great location made our stay most enjoyable.

Excellent breakfast & view of the AcropolisPosted Jun 20, 2014
We stayed at this hotel for three nights during the first week of June 2014. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the Acropolis, but the Plaka area is more of hike or a short subway ride away. The rooftop bar offers a great view of the Acropolis, particularly at night when it’s lit up. The hotel also provides a phenomenal breakfast buffet. The room was average, and ours had a crappy view of taller building a stone’s throw away. The staff was nice but they didn’t go out of their way to help us with anything like the staff at the island hotels we stayed at. We also had a bit of a problem with the final bill in that a dinner we had at the hotel and paid for in cash showed up on our bill as charged to our room without a signature from either of us. They did remove the charge, but they didn’t really seem to believe us.

The hotel was a bit of a "let down"Posted Jun 17, 2014
This hotel is in a great location so I guess that is what you pay for. It is an older hotel and a bit run down. Promised a balcony room. We did have a door with one foot to step out - but I would definitely NOT call that a balcony. Although the room was disappointing; the maid service was great as was the breakfast.
