Excellent overall hotel and close to the metro

Posted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, great views and close to all the trains and buses.
Cons: Free wifi in the rooms
Location: Metro is only block away and you can go anywhere quick around athens. We bought the weekly pass which was 14 euro and you can ride unlimited.
Overall very good hotel and close to all the downtown activities of Athens. Only one block from the metro, which can take you from the airport to the port of Piraeus and everywhere between, also the bus stops in front of the hotel. Be wary of the taxi, which are expensive. If you have to leave the hotel before 5am for the airport it will cost you 55 euro one way, 37 euro during other times. The metro is only 8 euro to the airport and will take you 45 min but don't operate between midnight and 5 am.The restaurant and bars are very expensive but have great views of the acropolis. What was the worst is they charge $20 euro a day to have wifi in your room, except for gold and platinum hilton honors. You can access the free wifi in the hotel lobby, pool and bars for no charge.

A typical Hitlon Hotel

Posted Sep 22, 2013
This is a typical Hilton hotel with all the luxurious bits that come along with the name. It's located in fairly central area with the closest tube station being within a 5 min walk from the hotel. There's also a nice bar at the top floor with some amazing views to Acropolis and the city centre. Make sure you buy your own water though, as one small bottle of water at the hotel costs around 8 euros...! fairly typical I assume..

Could do better

Posted Sep 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Only one person on reception when we checked in although at least 15 waiting. I know city swimming pools are at a premium but be prepared. If you book a standard room rather than the executive room we did, to use the pool and/or gym costs €10pp per visit. Free wi fi only available in in lobby. Anywhere else costs €20 per session. These costs mount up. Overall though, a good hotel by European standards.

Great Hotel in Athens

Posted Sep 18, 2013
The Hilton was the last hotel of my two-week European vacation, and the hotel and room were extremely clean and modern. I also dined at the rooftop restuarant, and it was an amazing view of downtown and the Acropolis. The staff was very friendly, and even went so far as to call ahead for us at a neighboring bar for drinks after. The only downside was the charge for WiFi, but we were able to access it for free in the lobby. Overall, I'd definitely stay at the hotel again.

Shame About The Attitude.

Posted Sep 18, 2013
First rate hotel with respect to its location and facilities, but the attitude of the majority of the staff reminded me of New York in the 70s.

Great Hotel

Posted Sep 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton in Athens. My room was large, well decorated, with a beautiful bathroom and view. The bed was super comfortable and room was very quiet. The pool area is great. I wish i had skipped some sites to spend more time in the swimming pool. I got a deal that included breakfast which was fantastic (much better than 30 euros fee for breakfast). there is wifi in the lobby, but if you want it in your room the fee is 20 euros. The location was excellent. Very close to a subway station. Nice area overall. In a previous visit to Athens I had stayed in a hotel next to the Acropolis, which although was very good, it was much more expensive, tinny and definitely not as comfortable as the Hilton.

Nice hotel close to town centre

Posted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: Everything and specially the staff and location. Food was great and the galaxy restaurant excellent
Cons: The room floor was scratched and needed polish.
Stay was lovely and would happily book again. Would prefer if they gave breakfast inclusive offers only. Also for the first time ever, I paid €8.00 every time I ordered food to my room, that was awful and not mentioned anywhere.

In the Lap of Luxury

Posted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: Above
Cons: Please explain how to use the electricity in the rooms.
Location: We did not go out. This Athens hotel was a stopover between traveling from Santorini to Rome.
After spending two weeks staying in hostels, the Athens Hilton was wonderful. The room was large and clean, and the bathtub was a spa tub. I swam laps in the outdoor pool. Later, my daughter and I ordered room service for supper. Suppr arrived on a regular size table for two on wheels, with the food kept in a warmer under the table. The soup, pasta, french bread and desserts were delicious!
