“Excellent service and quality”
We arrived hours before normal check-in and told that the room would not be available for *gasp* 30 minutes. The room was very clean with a great view of the Acropolis and the buildings on it. The service and quality was excellent in all areas (housekeeping, room service, restaurants, front desk, etc). You are within five minutes by taxi to all of the great sites and shopping of Athens.
“Top hotel in every way!”
So many great things to say about this place - super service, everyone is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. It's located very centrally & also near a metro station, so getting around Athens is a breeze, or you can simply walk to nearby Kolonaki, which has great cafes & restaurants. Finally, it has the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on - will definitely be going back there very soon.
“A lovely haven in Athens”
The Hilton Athens is a very stylish, comfortable hotel located relatively close to the sights of Athens. It is however extremely expensive to eat at the hotel but we had a rate that included the buffet breakfast, which was great to wake up to every morning, and also balanced out the cost of the accommodation. Our room was pacious, very comfortable bedding and good bathroom etc. We treated ourselvs to cocktails and dinner at The Galaxy Bar on the top floor of the Hilton. Whilst quite expensive it was amazing - great views of the Acropolis by night coupled with good food, wine and service. Recommended!
“Very Nice”
Accomodations were very nice and the staff was extremely helpful. Note: do not have breakfast at the hotel (unless it comes with the price of the room). You will wind up paying three to four times as much compared to surrounding places.
“Excellent”
Located in a good area, great hotel, great service (got upgraded to executive room). Marble bathroom, great views. Expensive of course (even with 1 free night) and charges 23 euros for 24-hour internet access.
“Expensive but worth it”
Originally, we wanted a budget hotel, but Expedia made the Hilton seem more affordable. We were very impressed by Hilton Athens. We aren't the type of tourists who can afford luxury hotels, yet you will see as many jeans as business suits wandering the lobby. We appreciated little touches like the provision of tourist maps and guides at check-in. They gave us free luggage storage after check-out, so that we could spend our last hours enjoying Athens without having to lug a suitcase around the hilly streets. The hotel rooftop bar offers fantastic city views alongside an exorbitant drinks bill, and the in-house jewellery shop has price tags that make you inhale sharply. But hey, it's the Hilton! Importantly, you feel safe walking back at night and you sleep soundly in a quiet room. Each room has a small terrace with sliding glass doors. You'll be amazed at how much city noise those glass doors cut out! It's wonderful to enjoy breakfast on your terrace in the sun, with a view of the hills that surround Athens. The location is great, about a mile away from Plaka. This is walkable (although you run the risk of being mown down by chaotic drivers). There are two metro stations either side of the hotel, about 5 minutes' walk, and a bus stop seconds away which serves the X95 Express bus. This takes you back to the airport. Even though we came to see and enjoy Athens city, we can't deny that our hotel played a major part in making this a fantastic holiday.
“Surprisingly good”
I was pleasantly surprised for a big chain hotel the service is personal and the standard very high.
“What I expected from Hilton brand”
No faults found at all at this hotel (unusual for me!) Very modern, clean and efficient. Breakfast choice was plentiful but was the same every day though found this fine for just a 3 day stay. It's a good 25 minute (pleasant) walk to the city centre but the nearest metro station (Evangalismo) was only 5 minutes walk from the hotel if you want to get there sooner or prefer not to walk. The metro from and back to the airport was inexpensive and easy. Make sure your luggage has wheels! There is a lift from the metro to street level so you don't need to carry your luggage up the steps! It felt safe walking back to the hotel late at night too. Snacks and water are very overpriced in the room so take some with you! A kiosk is situated right next to the metro station where you can buy a large bottle of water for 1 Euro (6.5 Euro in the room!!!) Try and get a high floor as the views from back and front of the hotel are amazing! Great swimming pool with towel service. Highly recommend the Hilton Athens :-)
“Very nice but expensive”
Hotel was very nice with comfortable and clean rooms, however, eating in proved very expensive. There are, however, a number of tavernas and cafes on the streets at the back of the hotel well worth investigating.
“Well located a short distance away from city centre with superb view of the Parthenon”
It lived up to our expectations of a 5 star hotel. Rooms, furnishings, bathroom etc all of a very high standard. A small problem in the bathroom was promptly dealt with. The superb view of the Parthenon from the bedroom and the roof terrace was a pleasant surprise. Staff were helpful and friendly at all times and our inability to speak Greek was never a problem. A good and varied buffet breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit as well as the usual fare. Overall a good place to stay in Athens slightly away from the immediate noise and bustle of the city centre, but within comfortable walking distance or a cheap taxi ride.
