Excellent downtown location

Convenient (not included in the price) parking. Very comfortable and spacious room. Everything looked clean. Would have like to have seen bottled water available (even for purchase) to use in the coffee maker. Breakfast was very good also.

Nice Hotel

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Customer service was great. Room was spacious.
Cons: Make sure that rooms are cleaned before they are assigned.
Location: Downtown Athens
The check-in process was fine. However, when I walked into my room I felt like Goldilocks. The bed was unmade, the television and lights were on, and the towels in the restroom had been used. I went back downstairs to the desk, explained the situation, and was given another room. The front desk agent offered me a free breakfast (which I did not need) and then offered me free parking. He also said he would reduce my room rate. When I checked out the next morning, the parking was still on the bill and the rate had not been reduced. The gentlemen at the front desk adjusted my bill and removed the parking. They made what could have been a bad situation a great experience in customer service. Gerrit, Ludlow, and Greg made sure that I was satisfied before I left the premises and they are the epitome of GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

no air conditioning

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: location
Location: UGA and downtown
Our room did not have air conditioning. I did not realize it until late in the evening so it was too late to go to the front desk. Upon checking out, I let the concierge know. He did not even apologize. very disappointing.

Great location, poor housekeeping

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: housekeeping
Location: Restaurants and chilling
Weak housekeeping, great location and we were probably just unlucky but hotel security had to deal with noisy guests which marred our stay.

Pleasant staff, and the bed was amazing. The keurig in room was a pleasant surprise. Not spectacular for the price but it was nice.

Disappointed

Posted Mar 31, 2014
The cleanliness of the bathroom and room left a lot to be desired. During the day no one came by to refresh the room or restock supplies. Very disappointing stay. There was no mention that parking would be $10/day. Next time we are in Athens we'll look for a different place.

OK stay but disappointing with special request

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: Great location if you plan on eating and drinking in the downtown area
Cons: Guest services and special request need to be refined, don't promise if you can't deliver...
After booking with Expedia, I called the hotel's 800 # and requested a bottle of wine be placed in the room for my wife, since we were spending her birthday in town and I wanted to surprise her. The operator told me they would be more then willing to do that for me and asked me what kind of wine I would like. I told her and she said they would take care of it and just bill me for the bottle. On the day of our check in I asked the front desk clerk if the wine was in the room. She told me she "thought" it was. When we went into our room I looked around and noticed there was no bottle of wine anywhere. I called the hotels guest services and asked about the wine. The woman on the phone said "oh I see it here in the computer, but since you booked it with Expedia it didn't go thru" I explained how I called the hotel and requested the wine and was told it would be taken care of and waiting in our room. The guest services woman asked if I would still like the wine, I said yes and 10 minutes later the wine arrived. After the bell man left I noticed there was no bottle opener with the bottle of wine. Thank goodness I had packed my own because when I went down to the front desk and asked if I could get a bottle opener, I got a look of confusion and I just walked away. We then called guest services again this time for extra towels, after waiting for 30 minutes we just gave up on asking for anything else. This was my first time ever asking for a special request and my last.

Convenient to North Campus

Posted Jan 31, 2014
Pros: Location.
Location: Athens and UGA--doesn't get any better than that.
Very nice hotel in downtown Athens, close to good restaurants and easy walking distance to Campus. But be aware if a group of high schoolers are in town and staying at the hotel for the various meetings/conventions that take place in Athens. The students do not go quietly into that good night.
