Affordable and upscale in downtown AthensPosted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: I enjoy the modern, stylish decor. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The Hotel Indigo feels like a luxury hotel without breaking the bank.
Cons: The staff are friendly enough, but are mostly college students. A bit more training/experience in customer service would bring them to luxury level.
Location: Walking distance to downtown restaurants, bars, and UGA North Campus. Jackson St. is dark at night, so walking is not recommended after dark.
This was my second stay at the Hotel Indigo. I arrived two hours before check-in, not expecting my room to be ready. Lo and behold, it was! The rooms are very spacious, well-appointed, stylish and comfortable. The beds are cozy, the bathroom with the walk-in shower and large vanity is an oasis, and a desk, window seat, and loveseat provide lots of space for working or just spreading out. The lobby bar has a nice cocktail menu with delicious speciality drinks. Prices are fairly reasonable for an upscale hotel ($6 for a rather large sangria). The bar also serves great-looking food that I'll be sure to try next time. There was an inaccurate charge on my bill that they removed without question. It was a small inconvenience to deal with, but it was resolved easily. Parking is very convenient and secure. The private lot is accessible with a room key. The upper level leads right into the lobby, and there are lower deck levels that have elevator access to the lobby.

Pros: Location and room.
Cons: Chnge the bedding more frequently. Four (4) night stay and they did not change the bedding.
Location: Downtown Athens is within two blocks of the hotel.
Accomodations were very nice and the hotel is located within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The hotel staff were pleasant but our stay was over New Year's Eve and they cater to those attending the in-house party rather than those of us that were "just guests". No parking was available even though we paid the $10 per day parking fee. Their solution was to refund our fee. Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel but beware of in-house events.

Great check-in & out, a little more than I like to spend for a weekend. A hip place to stay for the 20s & 30s generation, quite a party palace. Makes me wish I was a bit younger.

What a great stay! Nice and clean hotel located in a very nice area. Close to downtown and great restaurants by walking. Room was very clean and quite at night. Right across from a Fire station but di not hear any sirens. Even had a plugin for my electric car & two plug ins for Tesla!! Staff was fantastic!

Upscale in downtown AthensPosted Oct 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hip, Cool, Trendy and upscale. Easy walk to the Classic Center. Parking tight. No pool or hot tub. 5th stay at this property. Rooms are roomy. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Front desk helpful with unique requests. Sundries and snacks are a 5 min drive, so stock up before you check in and get comfy. Food is upscale but served at limited times. Nice gathering areas. Will certainly stay here again.

cool, casual, relaxed placePosted Sep 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
Usually these modern, chic hotels are very annoying with their pretentious, snooty attitude and atmosphere of the staff and patrons. This place was different and very refreshing. It's casual, relaxed, excellent drinks, great food and friendly staff. I am sure that being in a college town contributes to the casual vibe. I would highly recommend it. The only thing i did not like is the 10 dollars a night parking.

Nice facility, appears to be nearly new, beautifulPosted Aug 28, 2014
Cons: Conference area
Location: located in a close proximity to the downtown/ college area, thus is rather busy.
Very nice, pleasant staff, ready to assist or help in any way. Needs a conference area conducive to a training facility and appealing to the attendees. Rooms were very nicely decorated and furnished.

Better than expectedPosted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
We came with low expectations and we were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The room was clean and comfortable; the lobby was inviting; front desk was efficient and friendly; restaurant had decent food and drink selection for breakfast and dinner (we never ate lunch there); the small fitness center was adequate and the location was very convenient for downtown and the university.

Good stay overall. Some confusion about room type, but staff was helpful and all worked out. Indigo remains the best location in Athens
