Outstanding Hotel in Athens

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Luxury hotel
Cons: It was expensive for a room without a city view
Location: Central location within walking distance to many attractions, good restaurants and coffee shops.
The location was excellent, close walking distance to all the main attractions. The hotel restaurant and lounge on the 7th floor has the best night view of the Acropolis. The room was very comfortable, with luxury furnishings but we had an interior view. Excellent, quiet air conditioning. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent restaurant recommendations for dinner. It was somewhat expensive but worth it. We will defenitely stay there on future visits to Athens.

View of the Acropolis

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Location, room, dining options
Cons: Interior connection between the St George and the Grand Bretagne
Location: Acropolis, Acropolis museum, shopping, restaurants. Note that most shops close at 4 on Saturday and don't reopen until Monday.
We enjoyed the amenities and location of this hotel. We received an upgrade through our Starwoods Preferred Guest membership and had a very comfortable room overlooking the changing of the guards at the palace. The roof top restaurant next door in the companion Grand Bretange hotel had spectacular views.

Excellent hotel in centre of Athens

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: The location, the breakfast and dinner at restaurant was amazing and the comfortable bed.
Cons: Nothing
Location: It's close to the Acropolis, Monasteraki and plaka and off course shopping is all around you.
The staff were very friendly, the service at breakfast and dinner was faultless, and this extended to valet parking. The bed was the most comfortable we have experienced and access to the pool and spa area at the Grande Bretagne was amazing.

Good but greedy

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Stop being so mean with internet and water.
Location: Excellent local restaurant near by is 2MAZI in Nikis Street
Lovely hotel in excellent central position.Only a couple of niggles. You only get free internet in lobby and restaurant. You have to pay for it in bedrooms. This is mean when you are already paying a lot for a room.At dinner which is very good in Tudor restaurant they provide and top up glasses of water for you. In all other restaurants and cafes we visited in Athens this was complimentary. However at Tudor they added the cost of a one litre bottle of water to our bill. Very greedy !

Well positioned and elegant

We thought the hotel was in a wonderful location. The staff was attentive. Our room was a very odd shape so it did take a little maneuvering around as it had pillars in the oddest places. The amenities were first rate. We did have breakfast in there dining room which was wonderful and should not be missed with views of the Acropolis quite amazing.
