“Exceptional Service”
Our experience at the O&B was absolutely superb. The hotel is very well placed and is a short walk to pretty much everything, including the city centre, museums, the Acropolis, the Agora, Flea Market, restaurants, train stations - there is even a hop-on, hop-off bus drop off point around the corner and an Irish pub across the road. The rooms are modern and comfortable and some have balconies with views of the Acropolis. We were caught up in the Ash Cloud saga and were forced to extend our stay in Athens along with many other guests. We had no hesitation in extending our stay at the O&B and the assistance provided by the staff in relation to travel advice and booking was invaluable. We have travelled throughout Europe over many years and the service we received from the O&B staff was the best that we have experienced. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in Athens.
“Incredible Hotel in Athens”
We started off the trip with a two day delay in the states and were forced to cancel two days of our reservation with less than 24 hours notice. The hotel staff was very understanding and provided a refund immediately. Once we arrived in Athens we were met upon check-in with news that our ferry the next day was cancelled due to a strike. The staff immediately got on the phone to help us figure out what we needed to do to rebook our tickets. In short, the hotel staff made sure we were as comfortable as possible during the entire stay; they helped with restaurant information, they provided maps and directions, and were the most pleasant group of people we came across. The hotel is located about two blocks away from the metro station. It's very convenient. At night, there is plenty of activity in the surrounding streets but not so much to make the rooms noisy. The rooms are unbelievably clean and modern and incredibly comfortable-great to go back to after hours of sightseeing.
“Would definitely stay there again”
The O&B hotel is a pleasant place to stay. The location is very good (within walking distance of most ancient sites) and the staff is both friendly and helpful. They even gave us a very refreshing snack (on the house) upon arrival. Breakfast was delicious and the lounge offered free coffee (including Greek coffee, cappuccino, espresso, etc.) all day. All in all, a great hotel!
“A little gem”
This was a real find. Small but luxurious hotel situated on the edge of Psirri very close to Thissio metro so easily accessible but off away from the main tourist hotspots. Helpful and friendly staff and some really nice touches such as DVD library, CD player in the room etc (though would have benefited from some instructions about how to use them for technophobes like me!) I recommend you opt for a superior room if you can as they are a little bigger - the hotel is a conversion so some rooms are small. Lovely bathrooms with fab walk-in showers. I've stayed in several different hotels in Athens and this was definitely my favourite so far.
“A gem in central Athens”
This is an excellent hotel, with beautifully appointed rooms and a choice of breakfast included. Very centrally located in an upcoming area of Athens that still has a slightly down-at-heel, lived-in charm. Near the southern entrance to the Acropolis, and plenty of eateries. Recommend a wander round the flea market on a Sunday.
“A Wonderful Hotel Experience.”
Having stayed at many hotels around the World I would totally recommend this one. Great staff, food, service and the cleanest hotel I have ever seen. Yes the standard rooms are quite small, but very comfortable. I am not sure of the size of the travellers from Boston, but being unable to fit between the bed and the wall should say more about them than the room size! The location is very central and although the area is not the most lavish, you get a real feel for the contrasts of the city. Do not look any further for a hotel in Athens.
“very nice small hotel in downtown Athens”
Excellent hotel right close to the sights. very clean and helpful staff. Would recommend it highly
“Loved this hotel”
I found this hotel to be extremely comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is also in an ideal location. I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel again.
“Exceptional”
Stayed here a few weeks ago and had a fantastic experience. The location of the hotel is great and the staff are quite possibly the most helpful staff I've ever come across, especially the chap who works through the night. Having stayed at a 5 start resort hotel prior to the O&B, I have to say I preferred the O&B.
“Amazing hotel, close to Acropolis and market, a little hard to find”
This place was amazing! The staff was extremely friendly, they brought us complimentary greek desert and liquer when we got there. The room was very nice at a great price... a little small but I think standard for a hotel room on the mainland of Greece. The only complaint is that it's a little hard to find. If you are coming from the airport, I would pay the cash for the taxi instead of the metro. The metro ride takes a long time, gets really crowded, and then spits you out several blocks away from the hotel. Plus, the road signs are bad, so it's worthwhile to have someone bring you there that knows where they are going... and cabs are REALLY cheap in Greece (compared to US). The hotel staff made great recommendations, booked things for us, and even packed us a breakfast/lunch for our ferry ride to Santorini. I would go back in a heartbeat!
