“Fab!”

This is a lovely hotel in a nice area of Athens. It is about 20 mins walk from the tourist core areas, but it is a preasant walk. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

A real gem of a find in Kolonaki area of Athens. Great staff who very helpful. Easy walking distance to all Athens major sites and around to great shopping district in Kolonaki district. We will defineltey be staying there again on our next visit next year.

we read all the reveiws about this hotal many times,we must admit some was not that great, specially from our Americans friends and the problems they experience!, but by the two telephone conversations I had with the hotel,they where most informative and very helpful. When we did arrive, again they were very welcoming and informative,specially the young gendleman at the reception,who gave me a map and show me everything I needed to know. All the staff was friendly, but another member of staff stood out,she was the chamber maid who popped around early evening to see if everything was alright and gave us each a chocolate,she was most helpful and had a lovely nature. the hotal it self was up to standed,clean,neat and tidy ( building work was opposite,not much,but we did'nt heard much if not at all) if anything it was alittle too quite,the so call nigth club was the bar, which was'nt really used, but even if it was it would of made our stay abit better!. there are down side to this hotal, the plumbing could be alot better( the shower),but could be overcomed, and the hotal was well situated for everything, but from the metro station its up hill,after a few days your fitness tells.Athens is lovelly,but is expensive,a nigth out cost you a few bob,metro is quite cheap and easy to get about. We enjoyed our stay here and glad not to take much notice previous reveiws.

“Great location, cool, modern room”

I enjoyed my short stay (2 nights) at the Periscope Hotel. The location was terrific with restaurants and cafes within a short walking distance. The room was definitely my style, modern, hip, trendy feel. Loved the king size bed - very comfortable. Downside was construction across the street started at 8:00 AM. Fortunately, I was on business and wasn't sleeping late. I was told by one of my Greek clients that it is hard to avoid construction noise in Athens. I would stay there again. I only wish that I could have seen the penthouse suite with the outdoor jacuzzi!

“Great boutique hotel in the chic Kolonaki district.”

The Persicope Hotel was in a nice quiet location but within walking distance of all the major Athens sights. The area had some great upmarket shopping and cute coffee shops and restaurants. It was a great base away from the tourist madness. Given the taxi strike was ongoing, the staff at the hotel went out of their way to ensure I had a safe and reliable airport transfer which didn't cost me a mint! I would highly recommend this hotel.

“Perfect”

Loved this hotel. In Kolonaki (poshest part of Athens). The rooms are compact but do not feel small, and are extremely well designed with plenty of storage. I particularly loved the electric blinds and black-out shutters, which made me feel very decadent (and also came in handy after going to Bouzoukia all night). The bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in, complete with duvet. The bathroom was lovely, and the power shower was divine. The complimentary toiletries were nice - shower gel, shower cap, moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner, soap and the hairdryer was good for a hotel (1200w). The street was quiet - not much traffic, and not noisy at night (room is soundproofed any way). Breakfast is simple, served in the bar - Bread, cheese, meat, fruit, cereal, etc. The bar itself is easyjet orange which sounds awful, but somehow works. Staff were brilliant. Exceedingly helpful. Even the cleaner. Mini-bar is reasonably priced. Had an absolutely superb time in the Periscope (even when I was ill on day one, so spent the whole day there curled up in bed watching their library of DVD's) and would heartily recommend it to ANYONE who will listen. Kolonaki Square - 2 mins walk down the street. Evangelismo metro - 5 mins walk max. Syntagma Square - 15 mins walk. Acropolis - 30 mins walk, or 2 stops on the metro (it's a nice walk though - through National Gardens, Parliament, Syntagma Square, Temple of Zeus, Hadrians Arch...)

“Fantastic Periscope”

I loved this hotel. It was perfect for my stay in Athens before heading off to the islands. I woke up in the mornings and hiked up Lycabetus Hill to see the entire view of Athens. Periscope was in a perfect locaton near Syntagma Square which enabled me to see the "changing of the guards" before my flight to Crete. The front desk was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to help. Thanks Periscope. Would stay there on my next visit.

“A stylish, friendly hotel, best part of Athens”

This is a great hotel. It is in Kolonaki, one of the nicest parts of Athens, in a lovely side-street with shady trees close to lots of good restaurants and bars. The building is small but the space is well-used. However, American travellers note: the rooms are small! But they are beautifully designed with nice extras (shampoo etc), and quiet. The staff are utterly charming, and the breakfast was 'chic' (mini croissants etc.) and thoughtfully presented. Probably not so good for families since the rooms are small. But for a couple wanting to explore the wonderful city of Athens without spending $$$ it is perfect. I cannot recommend it too highly.
