Nice hotel close to Stone Mountain

Posted May 9, 2015
We needed a hotel in Stone Mountain for a pastor's conference. This hotel was close, beds were comfy, staff was nice and helpful, plus they had a free breakfast.

Comfortable hotel, safety problem

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: Comfortable and clean and close to Stone Mountain Park.
Cons: The staff should show closer attention to guests and assigned rooms. Breakfast should remain open until the closing time.
Location: Close to Stone Mountain Park. Restaurants were nearby, but traffic was busy.
I arrived to find the hotel computer was having problems and was assigned a room that was a double bed and not king as reserved. After traveling all day, I was too tired to hassle any more. After going to bed, the door was opened and in response, found out that our key code was assigned to another. Next day, the manager did apologize but no attempt to put us in a king room as reserved. Very dissappointed. However, the room was comfortable and my wife and I did not pressure the point. Having been offered later hotel rooms, my wife decided to accept a personal gift of pillows from the hotel. Hotel was very comfortable, though have to give a lower rating because of the carelessness of staff for safety.

Again, I apologized for the situation. This incident was a result of the entire Choice Hotels system crashing on Tuesday, April 7th, and not being repaired until Wednesday, April 8th around 7pm. It was a simple mistake by the desk clerk. We have never had this issue before.

Great alternative to the Stone Mountain Park hotel

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Affordable and comfortable
Cons: It would have been nice if the room was a littel larger and the pillows were firmer
Location: Close to Stone Mountain park, lots of food choices
It was comfortable and close enough to Stone Mountain Park that we still felt like we were a part of the convention without spending a large amount of money. No complaints. Staff was pleasant and accomodating.

On behalf of our hotel staff, I am writing to let you know how delighted we were to receive your kind words of praise. Given the very nature of the hotel business, the hours are long and demanding. Day or night, good service depends upon people willing to give their very best at all times. That’s why it’s truly rewarding when a guest recognizes our staff’s efforts, and takes the time to say thank you.

Convenient hotel, pleasant stay

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Nice, welcoming, friendly staff; comfortable large room with refrigerator and great bed. Reasonable rates.
Cons: Having breakfast available a little earlier would be nice. We had to eat elsewhere.
The hotel is attractive and was convenient for us. It's situated in a part of town that leaves a little to be desired, but it seems to stand apart from its surroundings. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and the bed was great. The bathroom was a little small, but not inconveniently so. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. One odd quirk - the automatic sliding glass doors were locked both mornings when we attempt to leave the hotel at 6 am. We had to find a staff member to let us out. A bit unsettling, but on reflection, I suspect there is just one staffer on duty at that time, and it is probably a reasonable security precaution. Also - when you're approaching the parking lot entrance, go slow! It's actually off an exit ramp (one-way), and if you go past it, you'll have to do a big loop around to get back on that exit ramp.

Nice Stay

I enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was a wide variety of food. The only thing I would change is the price. It was a tad bit high.

The breakfast offered is generic. However the Waffle House which is 24 hrs. is excellent and inexpensive. Do not go to the Metro Diner lousy food and service. Both are walking distance .

Continntal Breakfast Area A Disaster

Posted Jan 10, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel was good and staff were at check in could not have been nicer. Very accommodating. No towels at the pool and had to go to front lobby to replace. Our biggest complaint was with their breakfast area. Too small to accommodate the # of people - not enough counter space and no seating to be found. The attendant could not keep up with replenishing the food and everyone was standing 3 deep to get at anything. The over flow seating was the indoor pool and in order to access that area you had to use your room key. Everyone was dressed for the 30 degree weather, heading for "Snow Mountain" - not a sauna. Hard to navigate food, drink and door keep - choice was to put your food on the floor to be able to use both hands to open the door. Since this hotel apparently runs full the majority of the time, they have a serious problem. They need to revamp the serving area and improve the seating. This hotel is just outside the gates of Stone Mountain Park - We have stayed in a number of Comfort Inns but was very disappointed and would not consider going back. I did send a comment to the hotel but it does not appear they were interested. Many of the hotel guests left without being able to get to the advertised "continental breakfast" that was included in their room. Could not even get to the coffee and juice as everything was so congested.
