only issue was that there were only decaf coffee packets in hotel. Otherwise, it was 100%

This might as well be a brand new hotel for all the work Marriott put into it converting it from a Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza to a Marriott Courtyard. Having stayed there in its previous incarnation, I can say it is vastly improved--and we were comfortable there before. One can tell that the new employees are proud of their re-modeled hotel. They routinely greeted us in passing and often asked how we were enjoying our stay. They try very hard to help. Indeed, there is still a touch of the new employee training & enthusiasm The rooms have all new (Feb 2012 opening) furnishings, carpeting, wallpaper, etc., and they are quite attractive and functional. The housekeeping service did an excellent job of keeping it up as well. The lobby area has been completely re-done as well. The fitness center is a vast improvement over the older one--located in a larger new space and with more extensive new equipment. Didn't try the indoor pool, but it's still there for those wanting one. The dining facilities seem to have been reduced--there's a vacancy for a new restaurant with a patio dining opportunity. Still can get a good breakfast--with very friendly staff--in the lobby, and that's all we needed before heading out for the day. My sense is that lunch is also served, but we weren't around to see that. That's quite OK because there must be two dozen restaurants from Subway to top flight dinner dining within two blocks. In fact, the immediate area is quite fun and funky.

“Great hotel, fabulous location”

My husband and I were in Decatur on business and the hotel was a comfortable and well serviced place to return after a long day. I highly recommend it, and it doesn't hurt that great shopping and restaurants are right outside the door.

My only complaint was that the room had a stale (air conditioning) odor and was freezing when I came in. I figured where the thermostat was and made corrections! The ratee was awesome - Thanks Expedia!

“Close to Marta in downtown Decatur”

Stayed here to be close to Marta so we could go into the Georgia Dome for the SEC Championship Game. The hotel is in a great location 1 block from Decatur Marta entrance on the East West line straight to the Georgia Dome/CNN station. Ride took about 20 minutes. Nice downtown shopping area in Decatur with small bars we stopped in to drown our sorrows after the game. Breakfast at the hotel is a good warm buffet with all the usuals and an attended omelet station. Buy this ahead of time with your hotel reservations. Parking is in a garage attached to the hotel and is $7.00 per day due to being downtown Decatur, very convenient to getting to the room. Excellant option to save money over downtown Atlanta Hotels and crowds during this game.

This hotel is within walking distance of lots of cool shops and restaurants, as well as the Marta station. It was convenient and met all of our expectations

Hotel is in a great location. You can walk to shops, restaurants, grocery, Marta, etc. Comfortable bed, great shower and Bath and Body Works products.

I was able to walk to many restaurants and bars. The Holiday Inn Decatur had a great staff; they were very friendly. The rates were reasonable.
