“Just fine”
Good value for the money, convenient location off the beaten path and freshly renovated. This is an older motel, rooms are basic and old-school roadside motel design without indoor corridors. However, it was quiet and clean and fixtures were new and nice enough. Renovation was ongoing while I was there, so the property was a mess overall...but that's temporary & understandable and the results made for a nice stay (my room seemed like it had just been finished). If you are a basic, budget-minded traveler who would rather not stay in a commercial area near the interstate with all the attendant social problems, noise and congestion, this is a good choice. No pampering, no superfluous gimmicks & faux-luxury jive, just a good place to stay. This is not a luxury hotel, but it definitely is NOT a dump. It adjoins the Emory campus, is across the road from CDC and the setting is semi-parklike--a wooded area. Kroger, drugstore & Thai restaurant within shouting distance @ Briarcliff/Johnson intersection.
