Did Not Meet ExpectationsPosted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: The room was clean and up to standards
Cons: Customer service and breakfast
Normally, I would rate any other hotel at least 3 stars for the same experience, but Hampton Inn failed to deliver on two of their major selling points. We arrived with a prepaid reservation after exploring Stone Mountain all day. I entered the hotel lobby and found it to be empty with the desk clerk (who had conveniently covered her name tag with a sweater) on stand-by at the front counter. I approached the counter and waited quietly to be acknowledged while she "clicked" away on her computer mouse. I continued waiting, and then waited some more. And then I waited some more after that. I began to wonder if I had interrupted an online shopping trip or perhaps a Facebook update. After what seemed like 1-2 minutes, I considered leaving and going elsewhere except for the fact that I had already paid for the room. Finally, I was greeted in a less than warm manner by the young lady who seemed inconvenienced by my arrival. I did, however, manage to get my room without any further delay. Finally, she was free to go back to "clicking" away on her computer. The room we were assigned was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We slept exceptionally well and had no complaints with the room, bathroom, or facilities. The next morning, we made sure to get up in time (an hour before the end of breakfast) to participate in the breakfast buffet in the lobby. What an utter and complete total FAILURE that was. The selection was horrible. No eggs, no breakfast meats, a very limited selection of fruit

The building itself was a bit old; however the staff takes great care of the place and its guests, so it balanced out the experience.

I always stay at this Hampton Inn when I'm in Atlanta. It's close enough to the city without all the headaches. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and well kept.

Nice hotel close to Stone MountainPosted Jan 2, 2015
The staff was nice overall, but the lady in charge of the breakfast area was not very polite. Our room was clean, but we noticed that trash cans were not empty every day.

Bad security policy by the hotelPosted Dec 8, 2014
My door car key failed twice. Both times the desk clerk reissued me new card keys with only asking me for my room number. In other words, no verification that I was staying in the hotel, requesting my name, or ID. really lax security.

Connie at front desk was very helpful in giving directions to shopping and dining . Actually everyone we met was very nice and helpful . Excellent place to stay and only minutes to Stone Mountain!!!!
