“Stayed many times...not anymore!”

This hotel was nice at one time, it's very dated now and the staff is not that friendly anymore.The decor is old, the hotel is starting to smell old. We spent hundreds per night and felt we should have better service. The internet was in and out all night (still charged for it even though I let them know). First time that's happened in the 3 years we've been staying there. Also, for the first time we could hear the planes all night. The doors need resealing. They wouldn't honor our request for a king, first time that's happened. When you spend this much money you expect more and you won't find it here.

“"Very Nice and Clean"”

Hotel was nice, clean and staff very friendly

Area recommendations

Don't eat at Spondivitz seafood. They are in partnership with the parking folk and watch you on camera if you don't park in their parking lot which holds only 10 cars. If you park anywhere else they will put a boot on your car and wait for you to come out and pay $75 to have the boot removed. Your dinner could cost and additional $75, ours and friends did. What a rip off.

“Airport literally at your doorstep”

I booked a weekend at this hotel as a part of my business trip and because the event was scheduled to take place here. I have stayed in the Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles and had a great experience so I expected the same in Atlanta. When I arrived there was a 20 mintue line for check-in. The representative stalled in giving me my room card but soon sent me on my way. When I made it to the 5th floor and looked down the hall to where my room seemed like it would be there was a housekeeping cart outside the door and the door was closed. I didn't want to move the cart or walk in if someone may have been inside cleaning so I called the front desk who assured me that someone would be right up...No one came. 25 minutes later (thank God there was a sofa in the hallway) the housekeeper came up to move her cart, apologizing about leaving it while on her lunchbreak. Once inside the room, everything was clean and very nice, yet loud. It is nearby the airport but was still quite a shock when I opened the drapes to see only a one-way street and a fence between me and the airplanes coming and going. Nevertheless I called a friend and begged for a spot on her couch that weekend. I would only send someone to this hotel as a prank.

The good thing about this hotel is that it had a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport.

“Nice place, but NOTHING comes free”

It really was a great place with great indoor atmosphere for the price. Any better would be frivolous. Nice pool room. Lots of exercise equipment. Sauna. BUT, absolutely nothing came "complementary:" Very expensive Internet, coffee, oatmeal. However, free shuttle to airport and local restaurants was great. I lost my phone charger and they were extremely helpful in trying to locate it, even though it remains lost.

Piedmont Park. Nice place to walk, talk, and think.

Must avoid Rock Mountain.

No great restaurants nearby, especially if you are looking for something fresh or sustainable.

“Fine if you're heading out of town”

I had a great experience at this hotel -- until I got home. Although the hotel is right by the airport, people without cars can get to downtown Atlanta easily by taking the hotel shuttle to the airport and then getting on the subway. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I ate only banquet food and it was fine. The desk staff was courteous. Unfortunately, there was a double billing of my room and it's taken some time to have the matter corrected. Other than this accounting snafu, the stay was fine.

“Atlanta's Best Hotel”
