“I would stay again but get a room that does not have a bed next to the head of my bed”

The hotel was great overall with the exception that the night I stayed at this hotel there was someone snoring really loudly right next to my head and I could not sleep. I contacted the hotel front desk to request a new room and they said there was no other rooms available. So I had to sleep on the pull out couch in my the sitting area. Not what I expected from a Marriott hotel. However I did retrieve a message the next day from my cell phone from another hotel staff stating that they did have a room available.

Area recommendations

Buckhead is a good area and close to many things.

“Okay, but problems for the price”

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Covered parking was nice. Cons: The hotel layout is very bad and there are only 2 elevators which means that there is a LOT of walking involved. The hallways had a lingering bad smell that lasted through our entire stay. The free breakfast was not very good..

Getting around

Using the MARTA is pretty easy, but if you really want to rely on it, I highly recommend getting a smartphone with GPS and Google Maps... you can get directions based on public transit, so it will actually give you departure times for buses and trains. It's pretty accurate, but not perfect, so be prepared for the occasional hiccoughs.

Shopping

People swear by Little Five Points and Virginia Highlands, but my wife and I had way more fun at Ikea than we did at either of those.

Dining

Be sure to check out The Vortex for *awesome* burgers... also, Dante's Down the Hatch for some awesome live jazz and fondue.

“Nice and Quiet”

This hotel is conveniently located near Lenox Square. It is tucked away in a nice quiet neighborhood. They have a free parking garage. The room was very clean. I will definitely stay here again.

“Love all Residence Inns...”

“Nice place for a business trip only.”

The hotel was nice. We have stayed in this same place before. It had some issues with the air conditioner but they fixed the next day.However the room smelt like glue the entire weekend we were there. I would recommend staying in the larger suites if your looking for more comfort. The hotel is good for a business trip or a place to sleep only on a quick trip. Comfort and elegance is not recommended for this hotel. Beds are a little ruff and they only have sheets no blankets. Front staff did not make us feel welcome he spent most of his time on the phone.

Traveler's tip

This is an ok place to stay for a business trip. Very quiet and conveniently located. Comfort level is ok but good for a one or two night business trip only. The hotel staff will keep knocking unless you answer. They are determined to get in even with the sign on the door not to be disturbed.
