“Perfectly Charming, Perfectly Located”

I really enjoyed staying here: there are so many good places to eat, drink, and shop in walking distance and I felt safe staying alone.

“Loved It!”

Wonderful place to stay. Has character. Feel like you are staying somewhere special, not some chain hotel. All kinds of restaurants and neat shops right next door. Definetly plan on returning.

“Neat Hotel”

I stayed at this hotel because of the close proximity of a concert I was going to. The hotel was really neat with a lot of character. Staff was very friendly and check in check out was hassle free. The hotel is in a great location. I walked to the concert I was attending. There are tons of great restaurants and shops in the area as well. Definitely will stay here again the next time I go to Atlanta.

“Love this place!”

Have stayed here before--best walking neighborhood in Atlanta, and a true "old south" find.

“Great to walk Atlanta neighborhoods”

I read the reviews before booking, so I knew the Highland was, as one traveler wrote, a "hotel meets hostel," type of place. It was clean and comfortable, but also old and worn down a bit. The staff was helpful and friendly, the window AC worked nicely, and I was able to easily connect to the free wireless to do my work, before heading out for my walking trips. Adjacent to the hotel is a very good restaurant, and downstairs, there's a nightclub. If you're a light sleeper (which I am not), you're in trouble. Although upon arrival, the hotel staff offered to move me to another room if the noise was too loud. (I was happy to have seen the Soulphonics live on my last night.) If you're looking for a state-of-the-art hotel, this is not for you. But, if you don't mind iffy water pressure in the bathroom, and worn old carpeting, etc., then no worries. The bed was comfortable. However, the included continental breakfast and coffee was very low-rate, but I didn't care. The staff recommended a great breakfast eatery about 5 blocks away. The hotel is located in Poncey-Highlands and offers a good variety of eateries/restaurants, interesting shops and boutiques, and EXCELLENT walking proximity to the other neighborhoods I wanted to visit: Little 5 Points, Candler Park, and Iman Park. I am a 48 year old woman, and I always felt safe walking around, even at night, where I walked as late as 11pm.

“Great neighborhood, really nice hotel”

This hotel is in a great neighborhood, and I had a great experience there (two nights over five days in Georgia). The hotel is old and the room was a little small, but overall it was very clean, well-maintained, and pleasant. The continental breakfast was also very nice. If you are on a budget, or are only staying in Atlanta for a couple of days, I can't imagine a better place to stay.

“Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Price”

The Highland Inn was conveniently located next to the bars and restaurants of the Virginia Highlands. The staff was extremely friendly, room was very clean and the price was the best in the area. Hotel has lots of charm and you can walk out the door to anything you want to do in this great area of Atlanta. If you are planning a low budget trip to Atlanta and want the convenience of a great location within walking distance this is the place for you-I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

“Diamond in the rough...”

If you are looking for an affordable and comfortable place to spend a few days in the true heart of Atlanta then the Highland Inn is it! Located just around the corner from the Majestic Diner and just up the street from Little Five Points it's definitely not your typical downtown corporate hotel! Built in the 1920's it's been repainted and re-carpeted and is basic but comfy in a funky and pleasant sort of way. The bed was fine - the water was hot - the desk folks were friendly! We'll be staying there again!
