Center of downtown Atlanta, close to everything

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Ritz staff always top notch
Cons: Room itself worn, need of painting, bathroom tile dirty, worn
Location: Professional sports, Fox Theater very close
Staff excellent, room worn, need of painting, very close to all downtown sites, venues. Easily walking distance to great resturants, etc.. Typical Ritz staff. Check in easy, parking uneventful with valet service. We had the bed and breakfast package with an excellent breakfast. Only down side is the room, below Ritz expectations. Bed very comfortable but the room was just worn

The staff did an exceptional job. They did forget to give our keys when we picked up our car at valet, but brought them to us when we discovered the error.

Good start, bad ending

Posted Jun 17, 2014
When we arrived everyone was friendly and organized. We had the package that included breakfast. In the AM we went to the restaurant to get breakfast but were told a 45 min wait. So we went back to room and called room service. 45 min to an hour. So we decided we should check out and go get breakfast. Called down to valet and there was no answer, eventually rolled over to front desk who told me there was a 30 min wait for car?!?! So we head down to get in line for valet and I went to the front desk to outline our situation. "Oh, sorry. We are just busy today." No offer to take any action, etc. So I mentioned to her that I felt like what makes a five star a five star is not how nice the place is, or the service when everything is going their way. Lots of places offer that. But a five star should be taking problems on aggressively and actively. I was also frustrated b/c they know when they will be busy ahead of time as they can see how booked they are. And even if they did not have any ability to plan, felt like the current service situation should be a five alarm emergency, all hand on deck. She then offered to refund us the breakfast that we never got to eat. Wow. Will never pay a premium to stay here again when there is nothing offered in return for premium. Had this happened at one of the many '3 star' business class hotels they would have comped the stay

Dear Sam, thank you very much for your feedback. I sincerely apologize for the long waits for breakfast and valet parking on your day of departure. You are correct in your assessment that this should not have occurred. Kind regards,

The Best Hotel in Downtown Period

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Downtown near everything you need if you're downtown
Every time I stay here I'm reminded why I love staying here. Simple things like water the minute you get out of your car, fresh lemonade and jellybeans in the lobby, everyone remembering your name-everyone... And then there are the additionals-the maids are always putting free water bottles in your room, giving you fruit-doing all sorts of things that you would do at home for a guest....and there is no charge....Every better hotel has removed their minibars, taken away their robes-not this place....there's a giant mini bar, a snack bar, robes, and just a constant air of not being nickled-and-dimed. The gym is beautiful, and stocked with drinks and fruit and water-steam and sauna and showers with razors and all the shaving necessitites. Downstairs lobby is cool and edgy, the room's are a little older but still excellent.

The Ritz Didn't Disappoint

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Had another great stay at this classic downtown Atlanta hotel. The location is great, the service, rooms and food are great all as one would expect at a Ritz-Carlton hotel. I've stayed at most of the major hotels downtown and the Ritz wins hands down.
