Nice hotel for exploring midtown.

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Location, rooms, amenities.
Location: Laughing Skull for comedy, lots of restaurants and bars.
I live in Atlanta and was going to the Ministry show at the Masquerade and didn't want to drive back out to the house, decided to make a weekend of it. Hotel was very nice, location was great, lots of stuff to do, all within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location, super staff

Posted May 13, 2015
Centrally located and near to just about everything in Atlanta. But the real treasure of this hotel is the staff: from valet to desk to bar and restaurant, everyone is exceptionally warm and superbly trained. Better than many if not most luxury properties I've stayed in. Highly recommended.

Room not ready@6:30 pm

Posted May 10, 2015
Really?? So we were given a handicapped accessible room. The lobby was wild. Kids for their prom going up the elevator with drinks . A wedding party was filling up the bar. We have been to the W several times but this time it seemed out of control.

No communication

Posted Apr 28, 2015
If I'm from out of town I should be warned that their is no free parking and that I have 3 choices for parking. 1 valet is $34 a day, parking deck next door $7 every 15mins or $24 a day or park on the street and risk damage to my car. I should also be told there is an extra $100-$200 fee for incidentals when I check in. If I would have known this prior to booking I would not have booked a room at the W due to parking. For the amount you pay a night parking should be included period.

Did not live up the the "W" reputation

Posted Apr 20, 2015
My visit to the W in Midtown was not bad but certainly did not live up to my exceptions of what previous stays in other W hotels around the country have been like. The room was clean but a lamp was missing a knob and closet light flickered on and off. They carpet in the hall way was dirty and the paint on the base boards, door frames and other trim throughout the hall was banged up and chipped. A coffee maker was not provided in the room. They did send up a complimentary pot of coffee and said the would send up a machine. It never came and was an inconvenience. Free coffee was provided in the lobby. The coffee bar was messy. The W prides its self on anticipating and filling needs and wants. The hotel gave a sloppy appearance. My stay was not bad but next time, I will choose a different hotel. I was not impressed and frankly, disappointed.

W - Midtown Atlanta

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Everything was perfect except all but one elevator died (10+ minute wait for a lift) and the midtown motorists like to honk their horns (seemingly for no reason) until 3am so I was awakened repeatedly.

Above and beyond

Not only a great hip hotel but the staff just went above and beyond. I needed a translator and they called their staff to assist. They got me medicine when the stores within walking distance were closed. Really attentive and generous staff.

Excellent location

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Staff is excellent! Location superb.
Cons: Parking cost. Painting the room's doors and fix shower so it works properly
Location: Walk to Piedmont Park. Short drive to Ga Tech. Walked to Veni Vidi Vici for dinner.
Parking is pricy and a pain. Valet is worth it, self park is only $2 less. The rooms need freshening: paint touch ups, etc. Pool not in service and we did not know before we booked. Will stay again though. Convenient and good quality sleep. Hotel staff is superb!!

Well-located hotel catering to young people

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Convenient location, friendly staff, quality (if loud) bar, Bliss spa onsite, good room view, overall good vibe.
Cons: Rooms could use updating, esp beds and linens; shower temperature was erratic; could use more compfy sitting area in the lobby other than the bar.
Location: Piedmont Park; Highland Bakery; Beltline; all major tourist sites
The location in Midtown was perfect- very central to everything we wanted to visit and more interesting than Downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but had a nice view of Piedmont Park. The bed was a little lumpy and linens seemed slightly worn. Had cocktails at Whiskey Park - very tasty cocktail but hated the outdoor smoking scene. I got a massage at Bliss, and the therapist was well trained and very knowledgeable.
