Not clean. Staff very short. Bathroom filthy as well as sink was clogged and toilet stained and gross!

Cons: everything could be improved. But for the price I don't expect it to.
Location: You are $35 (Uber/cab) from the boardwalk.
Here's what you need to know. Cheap. The price is very low. The showers and toilets are low flow. The rooms are large but furnishings old. Small fridge and microwave in room. The ice machine is hit or miss. One day it worked. One day nothing. Next day worked. Cable tv. No movie channels (I don't think, didn't check them all) The maid staff is one older lady who handles all the rooms. Very nice. Probably deserves a raise. The office? When I arrived no one was in the office. Called Expedia and the old lady let me in a room. Filled the paperwork for the room the next day. I was there for 4 nights so there was no rush. The guy was nice but don't expect exceptional customer service. The hotel is $35 (by Uber) from the strip. All and all not the worse. Very cheap so I could spend more money at the casinos. Plus all the delivery places (Pizza Hut, etc.) knew exactly where I was.

I will not be returning. We (my family and I) had to move to another room because the first room that we were in had bedbugs in the bed. I had over 10 bites on my body within twenty minutes of lying down. I was upset because No.1 I felt dirty and No. 2 I had to throw my clothes away.

It sucks.... The people at the front desk are rude!! Very rude!! ... They say there's no pets allowed but yet they have a sign on the property stating to please pick up after your dog!! They were unprofessional in the way they carried themselves and we as guests felt very violated and un-welcomed because we had a dog there which was under 4lbs... And the hotel was under a pet friendly website!!!! So my stay there was not good!! Will never go back!!

Whatever you do when in AC area.... DONT STAY HERE! When my wife and I stayed here there were holes in the walls, mismatched sheets in the bed and grime on the bathroom floor. Just horrible!

The information prior to arriving ... Newly renovated rooms, etc lead me to believe motel would be fine . The exterior looks ok. We had to be moved several times, cleanliness was poor. Towels, wash clothes were soiled and hanging as if they were clean!! Totally unacceptable. Sheets in first two rooms were questionable. No instructions for TV. Overall appearance of room (first two) not even close to expectation. The best thing about this motel was the young lady on the desk. She was pleasant, tried her very best to fix everything, but much was beyond her control. SHE would be an asset to any of the better hotels!! Overall I would never recommend American Star Inn to anyone. Cleanliness should be of the utmost importance. Also they demand payment at check-in vs check- out!!!

The only positive was the room was clean. The furniture and fixtures were outdated. The towels were like burlap, what towels they gave you. There were 2 sitting chairs in the room that were covered with water?? stains. Not a good experience.

when I got there they had a very nice man , I was speaking a different language but we communicated very well because he was a very patient man , I was comfortable after the look for the reservation from our communication . when I got to the room it was very clean. the new owners are clean. the maid didn't hesitate to ask what I need. pleasant. I need towels , I got towels. was on top floor but still was nice stay. steps all rugged , outdoor rug for a nice walk to room, ice machine. right near all good food within 2 mile. near all beach points within 1/2 hour. happy. nice people , nice stay.
