Close to Tropicana for a decent price
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: Close to entertainment, semi-reasonable rates
Cons: New mattresses, more inviting check-in/out area, new doors/seals
Location: Tropicana is one block over. The beach and boardwalk is one block away.
Parking is per day, per car; not one rate per stay as advertised. Both rooms had a funky smell (it wasn't smoke but not paint or any type of cleaning agents). The doors did not seal completely and you could hear everything outside of the door. We heard at least one group arguing, fighting, and/or crying both nights around 4:30 in the morning. There were some shady people hanging out harassing guests in the parking area by the rooms across the street from the "lobby" that obviously weren't staying there. The lobby is a little whole in the wall on the corner. I wasn't sure I was going to the right place at first. Breakfast was ok. If you want luxury or anything close to it, go somewhere else. If you want a bed for the night this will probably do just fine.

Our stay could have been much better.

Pros: The only thing I liked about it; was the location.
Location: Tropicana Casino & The Boardwalk.
The amenities weren't functioning properly; such as the tv, refrigerator; microwave; & air conditioner. The room & toilet weren't as clean as they could have been. I wasn't aware of not having a closet; which should of been considered standard feature. We had to park far across the street.

Spend a little extra for a nicer place.

Pros: Clean for the most part, and friendly/helpful staff.
Cons: Cleaner bathrooms.
Location: Plenty of casinos (Trump, Caesars, Tropicana, etc.), shopping mall a few blocks away, nice places to eat (Rainforest Cafe) and very close to the beach
Overall the room was pretty clean, except for the bathroom. It looked like it was from 1960 and there was possibly dried blood on the door. There were police sirens about once every hour and there are prostitutes on every corner, but for the price I guess it was tolerable. On the bright side the staff was pretty friendly and it's only a block from the beach and major casinos.

One of the worst!!!

I stayed at this hotel and I was under the impression that it would be "as nice as the picture". I was WRONG! First, as I arrived, I thought I would be able to stay on the same sight as the hotel. I was then informed that "it is across the street. When I finally got in the room, I noticed that the room was unGodly small! I think the closet had more space. As I was settling in, I was hoping I could relax, WRONG! I had to listen to some worker with a "blower" clean what little parking lot that you have. After all of this, I wanted to at least be safe, I couldnt even do that. The locks on the door never lined up! I had to leave the door open all night long, and thats not good when your told to "park at your own risk". All in all, I would rate this hotel at a -10 if I could go into the negatives.

Overall ok for the price. In room safe did not work. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Hole punched in bathroom door. Noisy long term renters in parking lot at night. Someone had a dog in the room. People were smoking not so legal things on premises.

Very close to all of the casinos without having to pay casino prices. Room was clean, staff was helpful.
