Marathon madnessPosted Oct 19, 2013
I came Ito stay at the motel because I was running the Atlantic city race series and all the hotels were over priced. We pulled in the parking lot and all the cars were blocking each other in very bizarre. We walked into the office which smelt like smoke and were given our room key. The gentlemen at the desk said in order to park in the lot we needed to give him our car keys. Fat chance! Upon opening the room it smelt a mixture of things. Musty and like smoke. It was overpowering. We turned on the AC hoping it would help which it did not. That night when we went to sleep and got into bed this trip took a turn for the worse! The sheets were not clean, the pillows were stained, and there were stray hairs in the bed. That was the worst sleep of my life! All night it was loud and the bed was AWFUL. To make matters worse, the night day when I took a shower there was only cold water. The bathroom was a dump. May have saved money but it was the worst experience ever. Disgustingly dirty, poorly kept, and creepy!

Great location.Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: The location was great. We parked our car and walked everywhere.
Cons: The parking .
Location: The hotel is located right across from the Tropicana and a block from the boardwalk.
We enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a comfortable place to sleep and shower, this is the place. Our bed was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. If we needed anything we were accommodated quickly.

Suited our needsPosted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
We went to AC to see Beyonce. We were within walking distance to everything we needed for the weekend. It was perfect our needs. Inexpensive, free parking & close to the beach, boardwalk & Boardwalk Hall. I would not reccomend this for a romantic getaway but fine for a weekend with friends.. If they're not divas!

Did not stay after seeing & smelling room.Posted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: There was a shuttle stop right across the street and they offered coffee and pastry in the office for breakfast.
Cons: Better cleaning of bathroom - replace the shower curtain! Try to prevent smoking in a supposed non-smoking room.
Location: If you were there for the beach, it was only a short block away. It is at the end of town where all the casinos begin.
Our room smelled very strongly of cigarettes, even though I requested non-smoking. We did have a king bed as requested. There was no closet or bureau, just a rack with a couple of hangers. There was a lot of hair on the bathroom floor and the shower curtain was scuzzy. We planned to stay the night after seeing a concert at the Revel, but when we went in to drop off our things and freshen up before the show, we were disappointed with the condition of the bathroom and the strong smell of smoke. I immediately told my husband that I didn't plan to shower there the next morning! We never even tried the bed, as after the show, my husband and I decided to drive home instead of sleeping at this hotel. I just didn't trust the cleanliness of the sheets, etc. after seeing the bathroom.

Near Boardwalk and CasinoPosted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
When we got there the air conditioner did not work. When we told the front desk they were friendly about it and fixed it ASAP. BUT when they did it smelled funny and caused our allergies to act up. It wasn't as dirty as i thought it would be but it needs a lot of updating. The bathroom door was very hard to pull open. The bed and sheets where clean and extremely comfortable.

Worst place I've ever stayedPosted Aug 7, 2013
Pros: I liked that I got out safely and without incident
Cons: they could implode the place and start over
Location: location is seedy on this side of the street. The real hotels on the boardwalk are MUCH better options
I hate reading bad reviews, but I feel as though I need to be as honest as possible. The room at the El Dorado was horrible. Didn't want to walk on carpets or stand in shower without flip flops. Sheets looked clean, but previous reviewers mentioned bed bugs. I brought no luggage to the room, so I didn't worry about that and slept on my own sheet I brought. Had to park my car in the Tropicana garage across the street because not only was there no parking in their lot, but it was on a seedy looking corner and I wasn't about to leave my car there unattended with all my belongings in it while traveling across the country. Walking around outside the hotel late at night is not the best idea either, as drug addicts and strung out looking prostitutes are roaming around on the sidewalks. Police patrol continually, but there are not enough of them. The icing on the cake was that people were screaming outside my hotel room half the night up until about 4am. Sounded like an alcohol or drug induced domestic violence situation, from what we heard - even through earplugs. Doesn't help that I'm a problem sleeper and this really made the next day of driving 10 hours less than pleasant with no sleep. I guess this is what I get for trying to save a few bucks... However, do yourself a favor and stay at the Tropicana - it's a really nice hotel with lots to do, nice casino, good restaurants, imax theatre, and safe, plentiful parking. And it only costs a few bucks more.

You guys almost had me!Posted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
My fiancé and I were in town for the Rascal Flatts concert and were just looking for a place to crash, before driving home to Philly in the morning. I read the reviews but couldn't pass up the drastic difference in cost, when compared to the Trop, etc nearby. We figured bringing our own sheets, pillows, comforter and towels would suffice. BIG MISTAKE! Terrible conditions... I didn't even want to take my shoes off in the room and kept sandals on to shower... Blood on the shower curtain and trim peeling away from the walls and carpet! And beyond it all, the morning manager was unbelievably rude and unhelpful when we were attempting to get our car out out from being blocked in with their shotty parking system. Never again!
