“Golden Nugget Baby!!!”
I stayed before when it used to be the trump marina and it continues to please. The hotel and service were pretty good. They had a lot of good tables and several new restaurants. Even though its a few minutes away from all the other down town hotels it was still great in the sense the it was near the borgata.
“Vals review”
I did not care for the casino layout. The whole casino and surrounding area was poorly lighted.
“Kicked off Casino Floor - one small luggage bag”
Renovations to hotel are very nice. Rooms are were comfortable, decor is extremely nice but bathroom was extremely small and "tight". Mattress and pillows were comfortable and not "worn out". We could not checkkout in the room so we checked out in the lobby and was not advised that baggage was not allowed on the casino floor. We walked through the entire casino floor to play some slots and was not approached by the staff. When we were 10 mins into the game, we were then approached by two casino personnel and was advised luggage was not allowed on casino floor. We were basically kicked off the casino floor. We then could not find a "working" ticket machine to cash out and had to entire casino floor to cust. service window. It was extremely humilating. The desk clerk should of advised at the time of check in or check out of the hotel policy and this uncomfortable situation could of been avoided.
“Not the best overall experience”
I had originally booked an "ocean view" room for extra charge. When we arrived, our room did not have an ocean view. When I called down to the front desk, they said that they don't reserve those kinds of rooms and that they had no other rooms for us to move in to, even though Expedia had the option to pay more for the nicer room. They said that it was Expedia's fault and that they should correct their website.. Then the shower would not turn on so we had to call the front desk again to fix it. They fixed the shower while we were out, but upon our return found out that the tub wouldn't drain. We had to call them again to send another person to fix that issue again. (I will say that the gentleman who showed up was prompt and respectful). Overall, not the best experience this time around on both the Expedia side and the Golden Nugget side. Be sure to call ahead to guarantee the accommodations you are paying for since evidently policies can differ between 3rd party sites and the actual vendor.
“Boring little get away”
Not a bad place to stay if your not into night life. The rooms are really nice and clean. The food options are limited and the bars were dead. For this price i'd go across the street to Harrahs. Biggest downside was a prostitute fight at 4am that lasted for an hour and security didn"t handle so well.
“Suite or not.”
My wife and I planned a special night. So I booked a Marina suite, First when i checked reservations, I was told I had a reg room. We got that fixed. When we checked in we were told no suites were available. The staff did find us a suite. But was no smoking. We asked for a smoking room, that was on reservation. Finally they got us in a suite. It was nothing like what they described. No jetted tub, wet bar, microwave no amenities you expect. Even the furnishings were different. It did have the best view of downtown, also the marina. This is one of the best locations in town. We took a jitney to the Walk area, Had a great dinner at Los Amigos. The city is great. We really expected something special, that is why I booked a suite. Two weeks in advance. Never again.
“No Sleep”
They have just finished and extensive remodel and it is very nice but our stay was ruined because of the noise that can be heard in your room. We were awakened by TV's playing, people walking down the hall and other antics that were taking place on the floor we stayed on. Not much sleep that night.
“Wouldn't go back”
Booked a bayview room and was given a room with a view of the parking lot. My neighbor in the adjoining room was having a very loud party. We could hear it immediately as we approached the room from the elevator. The walls are very thin, especially where the rooms adjoin. When I went to the desk to change rooms, they didn't apologize for the mistake and made ME go back to the room and get the bags instead of sending the bell captain to get my bags and bring them to the new room. Went to the dinner buffet and it was overall horrible, most of the food was dried out and inedible, the only saving grace was that the prime rib was good. We went to Michael Patrick's for breakfast the next morning. Service in the restaurant was very slow and disappointing. Although, I didn't have a problem with the comfort of the bed, my fiance felt it was too hard and uncomfortable. Also, not enough privacy in the bathroom. Valet service "misplaced" my car. Had to wait almost an hour for them to find my car, just dumb luck that one of the valets overheard me describing the car to the clerk that he said he saw it and knew where it was. The clerk was complaining to a supervisor that the woman working the night before was incompetent and that she did not want to work the shift after her since she had to fix all her mistakes. Very unprofessional to say that in front of us. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and will not go back in the future.
