Pleasing experience

Pros: Waffles
Cons: Beds were lumpy and so were most of the pillows
Beds weren't that comfy and pillows were lumpy. But called for new pillows and those were great. Love the Waffles too so yummy!!

it was short but not not sweet, walked in then out. didnt get a pleasant feeling with people hanging out in there cars, looked like a abondoned hotel. a chinese/italian restuarant that was closed on a thursday afternoon, the hotel clerk said they make there own hours, overgrown landscape and rumors of bed bugs ! they kept my money and i refused to sleep there

Bad Ambiance

This was my first time staying at a Howard Johnson. Although I didn't expect it to be high class, I did expect it to be comparable to a Comfort or Quality Inn. It gave off a motel vibe and not a hotel vibe. The surrounding area was run down. The facilities inside and out seemed neglected. The halls smelled like beer and cigarettes. The first room we were given had old furniture. The headboards were made from fabric and were dusty and dirty. The chair in the room had white stains on it. The staff was nice enough to change our room which was better than the 1st but the furniture was still dated. The bathrooms were the only thing in the hotel that seemed modern. It was conveniently located near Atlantic City so that was one plus. Based on this experience I don't plan to stay at a Howard Johnson again.

You can tell this hotel has seen better days. The room was clean, but had a musty smell. Overall, the staff was disappointing. The desk staff was borderline rude and housekeeping was not great. There were several times that I had to ask for coffee to be delivered to the room, even after the room had been cleaned. On a positive note, it appears that they owners are trying to improve the hotel. I heard them talking with a contractor about repairing the tennis courts, and I could see other places that seemed to have been recently repaired.

Decent hotel close to the beach and restaurants

Pros: The price was great.
Cons: Hotel needs to be updated.
Location: The beach is close and so are many restaurants.
Hotel needs some improvements but the staff is very nice and the rooms are clean.

Not worth it for the money

Pros: The pool and that there was a microwave in the room
Cons: The rooms and breakfast buffet can use some upgrading
Location: Atlantic City Boardwalk and Tanger Outlets for shopping
The lobby is the most upgraded thing anyone will encounter about this hotel. The room smelled like mildew and the shower curtain rod needed repair because it was tilting in such a way the water from the shower was going all over the floor. When the front desk was contacted on the first night, I was informed someone would repair it the next day. Sadly, it was never repaired. As for breakfast, which I've been to plenty of hotels where they have continental breakfasts, they only had cereal, bread, muffins, coffee, bananas and a waffle making station whereas other places usually have a variety of fruit and danishes as well. Overall, this was a very poor experience for my daughter and myself for her last days of summer vacation.

Pros: Pablo desk attendant was very pleasant and professional at check out. Sked how was my stay and welcomed me to come back again.
Cons: Better lighting in back parking lot.
Location: Near casinos, shopping, restaurants short distance to the boardwalk.
Much better than expected. I needed a room for the night as my vacation reservation at a nearby 4 star hotel was not until the next day. I found my room to be cleaner than some of the boardwalk casino hotels.

Fairly close to Atlantic City

Pros: It had a pool.
Location: Atlantic City was only 10 minutes away.
I was not to thrilled to find that, upon checking into the room I had previously booked as a King Bed, was now being placed into a room with 2 double beds. The hotel was not very inviting, though they promised a Free Continental Breakfast, if you wanted to participate, you had to make it yourself. Lobby looked unprofessional.
