“Would stay there again”

My experience at this hotel was better then I expected. The staff was very nice. I had a great time there and will book another room there again without a second thought.

All was needed was a man walking outside with a chainsaw. Place was dark and under renovations. bed sheets were dirty. place was horrible

“Friendly staff, decent room w/ a view”

We showed up about 1/2 hr before check-in and were waiting in the parking lot for the room to be ready. After a few minutes, the manager came out and told us we could stay in another room that was ready to go so we wouldn't have to wait, and it had an extra bed to boot - too bad several of our friends bailed out on this trip! The complimentary breakfast consisted of individually packaged danishes and sunny delights. There was no wireless internet available, the bathroom window screen had a small tear so a fly got in, and the shower floor was a little dirty, but for the price/location (just 2 miles from the casinos) this place definitely met our expectations.

The service was perfect, very friendly and helpful. The room was older and not in the best shape but it was expected at such a low price.

The room we had was close yet far from the Boardwalk.It was easy to locate,affordable and comfortable.

“Just what I expected.”

My Goal: To stay in a cheap and clean hotel room close to the casinos for a couple of days. The Result: The Sunset Inn on the Bay was clean, comfortable and within a few miles of the casinos. It allowed me to be on the tables most of the day and come home to a nice place to rest, sleep and clean up. The management was very hospitable and friendly. I enjoyed my stay and would do it again.

“a non smoker's nightmare”

The room appeared clean, but there was a smoker who occupied it before us, and nothing was done to kill the smell of the cigarettes. It was such a strong smell that we had to ask the office for a spray, which did not really help. As non smokers, it was "painful" for us to spend an entire night there. I suggest that future guests are asked whether or not they are smokers, so the room can be prepared accordingly. Other than that, everything was average. I liked the idea of the microwave and fridge in the room, they are very handy, especially for families who travel with their little ones. Our overall impression was average.

“A view of the Bay”

Well, I misjudged the distance of this location from that of the casinos. So, after picking up dinner and walking for a while, while snapping pics, I arrived at 500 N. Albany and after checking my notes, realized I needed the bus to N. 1600..yikes. Ok, after my short bus ride from that point, the friendly bus driver dropped me off across the street from my destination. Check in was quick as my room was prepaid. Unfortunately, due to the clerk's accent, I misunderstood the checkout time of 11:30a (although I thought it was 12 N) and thought he said 1:30p..sweet..not!! A microwave, refrigerator, TV, hot shower, beautiful view of the Bay thru the back window and a self-regulated heater on a cold spring evening were pleasant amenities to enjoy in a spacious room. So thankful that I had picked up that dinner as there was nowhere to purchase any goods. Unfortunately, their free Wifi and mine did not connect me to the internet. Also, there were no hangers in the closet. The next day, after a series of knocks about checkout time, before 12N, I came to understand that their checkout is at 11:30a and had to cough up $10 to pay for the extra time to 1 p.m. At 12:30, I had to dash around the room to pack up and was not able to eat the meal I had fixed. So after checking out, I needed somewhere to sit, eat and gather myself before getting on the bus. The only place available was on 3 aged white chairs outside of the office. On a cold and windy day, it was not a good experience.
