Convienant to the beach and rides for kids

We have been staying here for years unfortunately they have let it go to far which is why it is closing. It is sad we have been coming here so long with the family I hope someone takes it over and renovates it to what it once was. I have been coming here for over 25 years. Sorry to see it in such need of an update.

despite the fact that the hotel is closing the end of August, the employees are remarkably friendly and responsive. we have stayed at more expensive places on the Boardwalk and this was an equally nice experience at a much lower rate.

Upon my arrival to the showboat I didn't know what to expect because i had never been to Atlantic City. It has great artwork on the walls and an awesome New Orleans theme. I really enjoyed my stay. What I would reccemend is that you get in line early for the 4pm check in time because the line gets VERY long. It took me a full hour to check in due to the line

Showboat Atlantic City - 1 King size bedroom

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Super long lines at Hotel Front Desk for check-in at 4pm 😡. Kept calling the Hotel Front Desk but NO ONE answered! When I finally got the key to my room. CONS: the sofa and chair was dirty and stained. Did not feel comfortable sitting on it. There was no flat screen TV - only an old school square television and the signal was bad! There was static on every channel. Checking out on the television main menu took FOREVER!!!😫😩 PROS: The bathroom was nice, neat, and seems clean but the shower faucet has low pressure. Towels we're clean & stained free. The king-size bed was very comfortable and clean as I examine the sheets and pillows - No stains or smell! :). Carpet was clean and I walked barefooted all night. Overall not bad. Kind of a old fashion hotel not new like Harrah's Resort but still pretty good. Enjoyable stay!

Nice hotel on the beach

The remote and AC didn't work in the room and the bathroom REEKED of mildew so bad-I wouldn't allow my family to take a shower in the morning. The check in line was 70 people long and took an HOUR...very hard when u have tired cranky kids. There was also no tv directory or room service menus in the room. All in all-very disappointing. Would never go back. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Nice Location, room ample, service questionable.

After a fairly favorable check in experience. Found a finished tray from room service in front of my room. Asked one of the cleaners and was told to call housekeeping. Tray stayed outside of the room for TWO DAYS!!!! At checkout tray was still there.

-stained rugs everywhere -no remote control, no hotel information folder, no coverlet on bed. -bartender across from front desk was rude and inattentive. -men walking around with no shirts on, women walking around in bathing suits in lobby and casino floor....dress code not enforced.

Decent hotel, great price, close to beach

The Showboat Hotel was a great place for a mid-week get-away. Room rates were very good. The hotel is old and in need of some cosmetic repairs(worn carpets, old furniture in rooms, and a few places had peeling wallpaper). In spite of the age of the hotel and an impending closure at the end of August, the staff was pleasant, especially those at check-in. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The casino was nice...still one of our favorites!

Run down

The rugs were dirty. The outlets couldn't hold a plug to charge your phone. The bulb was burnt out. In other hotels, wifi is included or free. Here you were charged a $10 fee.
